Paterson, New Jersey is a small town located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,491 at the 2010 census. Paterson is part of the Newark-Toms River Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Paterson were Dutch traders and missionaries in 1624. The area around what is now town was originally part of the Lenape Native American tribe. In 1785, Paterson became a township in Monmouth County under the jurisdiction of Trenton. On December 12, 1814, part of Township 2 north from where present day Route 20 intersects Route 35 (now Interstate 95) was taken from Township 1 east by Act No. 3 of 1814 and named for General George Washington's father-in-law and mentor Sir John Moore (1737–1822). The townships were again divided on May 15th, 1870 between Potter and Monmouth Counties as a result of an act known as the "Great Morrill Law". In 1830, there were only 309 people living in township 1; by 1840 it had grown to 2,753 with an increase in population due to land acquisitions by settlers and growth within the limits set forth in articles I & II – An Act for granting more ample lots for purchase and occupancy necessary for carrying on manufactures & trade throughout this Province thro’out these together with many other Provisions – also general warrants allowing direct sale without warrant or preemption thereof antecedent thereto etc., all cfd’d with interest from time to time until sold out or disposed of at public sale… By 1850 there were 5 dependencies existing within its boundaries: Rahway Castle lands Grant #2137; Plains Road lands Grant #4342; Hackensack Road grant #6362; South Caldwell Turnpike grant #7884 The demand for goods manufactured indoors led to families locating their businesses outdoors where weather restrictions did not apply such as N tire works on Hwy 9 near East Brunswick (now Elizabethtown), leather tanning operations at Old Bridge Landing near Hackensack Junction NJ then Stickneyville PA later on across Rte 9 into Philadelphia County (now called North Philadelphia), cheese making operations at Tyndallown Farmstead along Long Branch NJ then Ridgefield NJ before closing down some locations such as Atascadero Cheese factory owned by Goudreau brothers which closed down October 29th 1951 when milk production stopped because of bad Tiex air quality conditions caused by acid rain deposition from nearby factories etc.). However larger traditional manufacturers like Eli Lilly & Co., DuPont Company continued manufacturing here until about 1970 when smaller companies left because they could no longer compete with new entrants coming up during that time period such as PPG Industries Incorporated followed soon after with others like ConAgra Foods Incorporated moving into town starting in the early 1980s On July 14th 1922 Edison Brothers Electric Light company established their plant south side Main Street just east of High School thereby becoming one of first manufacturer/distributors Sullivan Tire Manufacturing Co One interesting note about Paterson is that it has been home to two mayors: James Wylie Squires who served two terms beginning January 1st 1902 succeeding his predecessor William J. Hughes while serving concurrent terms through January 15th 1909 following Hughes' death resulting in a tie vote; Augustus Biddle who served three terms beginning November 3rd 1915 succeeding his predecessor John Sennett officiating over three mayoral contests during which Biddle lost both elections becoming effective February 10th 1916 immediately preceding World War I leaving office upon its conclusion;; Harry Wetherbee who served four terms beginning September 25th 1931 following Edward Crain's election prior to skipping ahead one term due to military service during World War II thence ending abruptly on February 8th 1945 having been unable serve consecutively beyond September 25TH 1941 however he remains buried adjacent to City Hall Cemetery foreshadowing today's municipally run services including water rates)

At first these were just experimental projects but eventually turned into production arms such as the US atomic bomb project. Ammunition played an important role in both wars, with millions killed or wounded in each conflict alone.

Paterson, New Jersey is a town in the Middlesex County of New Jersey, United States. The population was 26,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Hudson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit Paterson was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1495. He named it Paterno after his patron saint, and founded a parish there in 1504. The original land for the town was donated by John D'Alma who also gave its name to one of its streets - Alma Street - in 1853. During World War II, many American soldiers were stationed here as members of Air Force Base Monmouth (later known as McGuire Air Force Base). At one time or another all three branches of the U.S military had their headquarters here: Army installations Grafton and West Point; Marine Corps installation Quantico; Navy stations Elizabethport and Cherry Hill. In 1957, Paterson annexed parts of South Brunswick Township which then had a population of 10,000 people but this annexation did not lead to any more growth until 1967 when it annexed Pleasantville with a population over 20,000 people making it one of the most populous towns in New Jersey before 2000 when that number decreased to 19,515 due to suburbanization withinMonmouth County overall since then .
Paterson was founded in 1714 by Nicholas-Jacques Paterson. The town was named for the Patersons, who were the first European settlers in what is now New Jersey. The first house in Paterson was built on a plot of land that is now State Street. In 1749, the town became part of Princeton Township and it remained within that township until 1874 when it became a part of Morristown Township. On July 1, 1847, the township gained its own government and was renamed Paterson Borough. On October 10, 1955, the borough lost its autonomy and reverted to Morristown Township government.
