Pasquotank County was created on November 3, 1777 from portions of Cumberland and Monmouth counties. The county is named for the Passaic River, which bisects it. Pasquotank County has a population of 201,636 as of 2018. The town of Dumont was founded in 1806 by Pierre-Simon LaFontaine and James Kieft. It became a part of New Jersey when the state was formed on January 29, 1776. In 1824, the town merged with adjoining Bergen Township to form what is now Passaic Township. In 1868, sections of Passaic and Sussex townships were annexed into Ramsey Township while West Paterson Borough became a part of Passaic Village within Ramsey Township. On July 1, 1984, all but one section ofPassaic (the westernmost township) were combined with East Paterson to form Paterson borough. According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , making it landlocked by New York City proper and Newark Liberty International Airport. In addition to its landlocked status, Pasquotank County also experiences occasional flooding due to thunderstorms that move over Lake Superior or other bodies of water in central NJ during winter months; this has led some people to refer to it as "Lake County" because much less than half the area is actually inside the county line (despite having a name). The main body of water located in Pasquotank County is slightly larger than Delaware Bay - both are connected by small waterways known locally as creeks or rills: Rahway Creek flows through Rahway Township into Passaic County and Newark Creek flows through Newark into Atlantic Coast Time zone
Passaic is a city in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 23,853 at the 2010 census. It is the sixth-largest city in New Jersey. The first known European settlement in what is now Passaic was by Dutch settlers in 1624 and it became part of Bergen County. On February 14, 1714, the first English settlement was established by Jameson and Dunmore as Weehawken on the east side of Hackensack River. In 1734, the town passed to Monmouth County and then to Passaic County when that county was created on March 3, 1837. On January 11, 1876, a fire destroyed most of downtownPassaic; only two blocks remained standing after being rebuilt using stone from quarries near Paterson and Clifton Plantations. In 1933, incorporation of the boroughs of East Rutherford (later Edison), Westwood (later Parsippany) and Northvale followed suit with Passaic Borough becoming an independent municipality on December 15th following a referendum vote by its citizens over whether or not to become an incorporated borough subject to county ordinances. As township status did not expire until 1978, this event does not qualify as a municipal amendment history entry for Passaic Township itself but does include events leading up to it including annexation with Edison Township on October 9th 1903 which also preceded incorporation into Passaic Township proper; both towns were consolidated into one municipality effective November 1st that year due to increasing population density within their respective borders during that time span as well as other factors such as larger municipalities consolidating their services under one umbrella resulting in more efficient government oversight). Finally Southold Township became an unincorporated community located adjacent to Southold Park within the City Limits of Newark just outside of those limits' boundaries on May 25th 1924 following its own referendum vote over annexation into Newark Municipal District however it remains unincorporated territory even today primarily because no formal annexation proceedings have been filed since then despite reaching a population exceeding 50% inside its urban boundaries once again meaning there are no legal residents living there currently aside from employees working for their respective municipalities depicting how much annexed territory has actually changed since then according to NJStatisticalRelease: "Southold's lack of formal annexation procedures may be due in part to its relatively small size relative to neighboring municipalities although this has gradually shrinking population)"
