The Palisades Park Shooting Range is a public shooting range located in Palisades Park, New Jersey. The range was established in 1907 and has been used for target practice by the public since then. The Palisades Park Shooting Range is open to the general public from 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday. There are no restrictions on who can shoot at the range, as long as they are of legal age. Firearms must be registered with the NJDOT before being allowed to use therange. In addition to rifle shootings, pistol shooters can also use the range for handgun training. All handguns must be registered with NJDOT before being allowed to use the range, and all pistols must meet state law requirements in order to fire TM rounds (Targets Master Regulation). Pistol targets also come in three different sizes: small-bore, medium-bore, and large-bore.

The Palisades Park Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892 by Captain John P. Spaulding, a Union veteran who had fought in the Mexican-American War. The club enjoyed success until World War I, when the NRA registered it as a firearms club. In 1934, the club became a limited liability company and changed its name to The Palisades Rifle and Pistol Association. In 1949, the NRA reorganized PALI as an organization that could field competitive rifle and pistol teams for state championships. That year also saw PALI become affiliated with the American National Shooting Sports Foundation (ANSFS). In 1957, PALI joined forces with two other rifle clubs in New Jersey to form The United States Rifle and Pistol Association (USTRA). UTRA has been a cornerstone of shooting sports activity in New Jersey ever since.
The Palisades Park community is located in the Borough of Amboy Township, in Hudson County, New Jersey. The park was first established in 1892 and it today has a total area of over 22 acres. It is one of the largest public park systems in New Jersey. The Palisades Park Community Library was opened on February 26, 1969. The library is part of the Bergen County Branch Library System. The library has a collection of more than 830,000 volumes and items from more than 270 Special Collections holdings. The library also offers a variety of services including reference materials for school children and adults, access to audio/visual materials, online resources, and programming for both academic and non-academic groups. The Palisades Park Recreation Department provides facilities for sports such as badminton, basketball, soccer, track & field (men’s swim & diving), tennis (open to both genders), cross country skiing (for ages 7-18), fishing (with permits only for open water fishing with an artificial lure or fly rod using a live fish rather than an imitation) and snowmobiling (for ages 4-12). There are also playgrounds adjacent to the recreation department as well as five baseball diamonds dating back to 1922 which are used by local teams during summertime tournaments. Facilities include two ponds that provide swimming & skating opportunities while also providing shade; three full size golf courses within easy reach; two fitness centers with treadmill/ weights/ Pilates equipment; two large lakes that can be filled with ice or boats; one small pond perfect for wading; four picnic areas complete with grills and tables; six family restrooms with eachhaving up to twelve stalls each.; one concession stand offering foodstuff such as soft drinks, pizza ovens etc.; seven group campsites complete with kitchens/ Heaters/Grills - ideal for gatherings of ten or more people., . . . .

The Palisades Park Historic District is a national historic district located in the town of Palisades, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The district includes 103 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites. They include three major commercial districts: the North Side Commercial District, Lower Manhattan Business District, and the South Side Commercial District. It was first listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The Palisades Park area was part of what is now called Upper Township until 1777 when it became part of Hunterdon County. The first white settler in what is now Palisades Park was Nicholas Coles who arrived in 1777 from England. He built a cabin on Ridgefield Road near present day Route 9 about which little is known. By 1814 there were 8 settlers living in this section of Upper Township with 3 homes and 6 acres (2 ha). In 1821 John Beardsley bought land north of present day Route 9 for $75 and began to build a home which he named "Beardsley's Castle". This became one of the most well-known landmarks in the township as it served as a social center for many years. At that time estate agents would come to sell tracts of land within walking distance of Beardsley's home to wealthy businessmen looking to expand their businesses into new territory or find new buyers for their older properties. In 1881 Charles Wertheimer bought 5 acres (2 ha) northeast of Beardsley's Castle from John Beardsley and began building what would become known as Wertheimer House (now called Inner Harbor Towers). This house still stands today and has been used as an event space by local organizations such as Bucks County GOP Club, NJ Historical Commission Museum, Stroudsburg Area Chamber Orchestra etc.. In 1898 Morris Scherbinger founded Scherbinger Paper Company Incorporated on his family farm east side of Third Street between Woodcrest Drive and Gates Mill Road which became one of Hunterdon County’s largest paper companies with annual sales exceeding $100 million by 1914 Wertheimer House was purchased by American Paper Centenary Corporation in 1955 and remains one-of-a-kind inside its original brick walls In 1957 Newark based RCA Victor Records opened its Camden studios at 222 South Orange Avenue just northof what is now Macy’s Department Store; this location would be renamed Sony Music Studios prior to its closure in 1985 In 1966 Mayor Richard Jaffe announced plans for development at both ends Interstate 95/US 38 across from interchange 4363; this project eventually resulted in the construction over 100 miles (160 km) long Northeast Extension Of I-95 known locally as The Midtown Expressway On October 15th 1976 Hurricane Sandy struck New York City causing extensive damage to thousands homes including those located within the boundaries Defining Edge Subdivision including many located within milepost 087 outside borough limits; however despite significant losses no injuries occurred within Defining Edge Subdivision either due to flooding or storm surge HAZMAT exposure
The Palisades Park was a large property near the borough of Upper Manhattan in New Jersey that was first developed as part of the Hoboken Project. The area now includes much of the eastern side of New York State and is known for its dramatic cliffs, streams, and forests. The park was also home to several golf courses and other recreational activities until it was sold to the city in 1924. In 1997, the Palisades Park Preservation Trust purchased most of the land east of Interstate 95 from Hoboken Development Corporation for $5 million. The trust plans to restore and maintain the park as a public open space with trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds for children.
