On October 26 of that year, almost two weeks after Battle of Ferry Landing, Patriots laid siege to British-occupied Newark Castle (now called Newark Liberty International Airport). During these siege attempts, more than 20 people were killed or wounded including Lieutenant Colonel John Burgoyne who later became Lord Burgoyne governor ofchester County in England during Queen Anne's reign
