North Plainfield, New Jersey is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 12,826 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hunterdon County.North Plainfield was founded in 1755 by Scots-Irish settlers who had come to North America as part of the Great Migration. The first post office in North Plainfield was established on March 25, 1756, and named for John Quincy Adams, 1st U.S. President. The name "PlainFIELD" was chosen because it did not include any hills or mountains and was quite plain looking from a distance; this made it an ideal location for farming and trading activities which attracted early settlers to the area. The township got its start when lands were granted by Governor Nicholas Myrick to 22 men of whom 10 became trustees to create a township meetinghouse and court house on February 24th, 1814 (the date remains as Observer Day in Township history). On October 15th 1828, during Andrew Jackson's presidency as president of the United States, legislation was passed authorizing purchase of land from Native Americans for resettlement in what would become known as Hunterdon County. On January 6th 1830 Abraham Lincoln signed Executive Order 8802 which created North Plainfield Township from part of Burlington Township (later Camden Township) with a population of only 5 people (the total number resident within township limits at that time). In 1881 portions of Burlington Township were merged into North Plainfield while other parts were annexed into Rahway Borough (now Union City). In 1955 portions of Rahway Borough were combined with South Paterson to form Passaic Valley borough providing one municipalities per county for all 32 counties in New Jersey except Monmouthshire where there are four municipalities - Asbury Park/Trenton; Atlantic City/Middletown; East Brunswick/West Orange; and Trenton - each with its own police department and government services provided by its own governing body including Chosen Councils responsible for Basic Services such as Highway Maintenance etc., sewerage systems etc., schools etc., public libraries etc... This arrangement lasted until 1978 when Passaic Valley became solely a suburban municipality with no authority over basic services such as highways or public transportation system within city boundaries like those enjoyed by other municipalities within county limits including Asbury Park/Trenton; Atlantic City/Middletown; East Brunswick/West Orange; and Trenton - each with its own police department and government services provided by its own governing body including Chosen Councils responsible for Basic Services such as Highway Maintenance etc., sewerage systems etc., schools etc., public libraries etc... In 1998 South Paterson lost all municipal control over basic service functions within their borders leaving them effectively powerless againstinder certain city ordinances which they found difficult or impossible to defiance
There is no one answer to this question as there have been many different types and designs of target holders over the years. It consisted of a metal frame with a hole in it that allowed for firing arrows at a small, stationary target. These targets were typically used for practice or as part of hunting games. The second type of target holder was developed in 1925 by Ransom Olds (1898-1980). This device consisted of two metal plates that werehing along each other, allowing arrows to be shot into them from either side. The third type of target holder was designed by Raymond Loewy (1904-1990) in 1957. It consisted of a plastic frame with an inflatable surface that could be filled with water or other projectiles and fired at targets such as balls or birds. These devices became popular among shooters during the 1960s because they allowed shorter shooters to hit larger objects more easily than earlier devices. In 1969, birthday gift recipient Bob Hope personalized his own Target Holder when he received one from manufacturer National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The Target Holder was designed to shoot ping pong balls through a straw inserted into the top end so that it could act as both a shooting platform and an entertainment device for children during their birthday parties. North Plainfield, New Jersey is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 8,819 at the 2010 census. North Plainfield is part of the Princeton–Westwood metropolitan area. The town was named after Newark, New Jersey and Plainfield Township. The first inhabitants of what is now North Plainfield were Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals near the present day site of town on Lake Monmouths shoreline. The first settler in what would become North Plainfield was Abraham de la Salle in 1681. He built a series of log homes on what are now Main Street and State Street in what are now parts of South Orange and Princeton townships. La Salle's home still stands today as a museum property within the town limits. In 1795, Jameson & Company (later known as Jameson-Lafayette) founded the township of Newark from portions of Middlesex Township including present-day North Plainfield village which became its central business district when that township was created from parts of South Orange Township on November 3, 1814. On May 5th, 1824, East Brunswick Township formed from part of Newark with similar results; however it wasn't until 1839 that all municipalities within Rutgers University's system were consolidated into one entity called "Rutgers University Park". This new municipality included most or all of what would become North Plainfield including its current boundaries with South Orange Township to the north and east while Princeton Borough to the west constituted Westwood borough before it merged into neighboring East Brunswick on April 14th 1912 creating an unincorporated community known then as "East Brunswick". On February 11th 1870 – just over a year afterNJFailure - settlers from Hackensack arrived at Plumstead Point (now located inside our borders), disembarking at Plumstead Landing prior to leaving for their land holdings through Essex County next door., landing there about four miles long by two miles wide comprising more than half modern-day North Plainfield Village . At least some may have also landed at Sayre Landing further upriver but that account is undated or even unknown outside academic circles...... Today’s Sayre Landing could lay claim to being “the first permanent European settlement on Long Island” according to some historians because early American colonists had already made contact with local Indians there through trade....... By 1800 only 2 percent (~4000 residents)of Essex County lived in villages while 87 percent (~150000 residents) resided withintownship boundaries..... With this influx came increased pressure upon landowners for more open space leading eventually to large acreages remaining undeveloped until well into the 20th century....... The first Europeans to visit North Plainfield were the Dutch in 1614. The town was founded as a part of the Dutch colony of New Netherland in 1624. North Plainfield became a township in 1838, and a borough in 1917. The population of North Plainfield was 25,500 in 1950, and 59,500 in 2010.
