It was actually the second such factory in America after Philadelphia's George Washington's Mount Vernon Arsenal. The arsenal played an important role in American history as it helped develop modern firearms and gave Americans a fighting chance against British forces during the Revolutionary War. In 1868, Battle Creek Arsenal passed into private hands and became known as the Adolphus Busch Brewery Museum & Research Center (now part of Krocodyle Corporation). In 1984, it reverted back to its original name of the Battle Creek Arsenal Museum & Research Center when it became part of North Plainfield Township (NPT) government hands again. At present day,Battle CreekArsenalMuseum&ResearchCenter is one of three museums located within NPT; the others are South Plainfield Township’s Battlefield Park Museum which opened in 1978 and contains artifacts from both sides of World War II while Easton Township’s Gunsmith Shop & Collection Gallery open since 1992 contains items related to arms engineering from early America up until about 1900 AY

North Plainfield, New Jersey is a town in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,835 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Princeton-Athletic Park metropolitan area. North Plainfield was founded in 1795 as a small village on the north side of what is now Princeton University. It became an incorporated town in 1869. The name "North Plainfield" originated from a Native American word meaning "a place where corn grows." In 1854, North Plainfield voters adopted a charter that made it an official city and provided for its own government and school system. In 1916, the boroughs of Paramus and Plainsboro merged into North Plainfield to form what is now Paramus Township. The name "north side" came from this merger because until then the townships were all located on the south side of Passaic River. The first post office opened in North Plainfield on December 1, 1827; it was closed on May 25, 1850 due to high postage rates caused by America's new mail service which began operating October 1 that year
North Plainfield was founded in 1781 by the Dutch. It was originally known as "Hagueeland" because of the many ships that used the area for trading. The town became a part of New Jersey in 1784 and it was named after Plainfield, MA. The original town had a population of only 100 people. In 1814, North Plainfield incorporated as a city and has since grown to over 30,000 residents. North Plainfield is home to multiple universities including Princeton University, Rutgers University and Monmouth College.
