The other four cities were Minneapolis-St Paul; Detroit; Salt Lake City;and Jacksonville Beach Florida.[3] Upon mayor Emanuel’s inauguration on May 24, 2014,[4] all 50 U.S.–based Muslim–led organizations representing more than 100 million people sent him a letter expressing support for his vision for creating “a city where everyone feels welcome no matter their background or faith”[5]. During World War II, Newark played an important role as an airbase providing refueling opportunities for allied forces fighting against Nazi Germany throughout North America continentally and internationally[6]. The post-war years saw significant redevelopment that continues today with retail corridors such as Broad Street running around central business district anchored by world class restaurants like Benares Gourmet Bazaar[7], M&M's Pizza[8], Starbucks coffee [9], Dunkin' Donuts[10], Pizzeria Bianca [11]; luxury hotels including Ritz Carlton [12] ; numerous apartment buildings; light industrial area; sports venues including Rutgers University Scarlet Knights football game,[13][14][15][16] Edison Glass Co., makers of high quality window glass products since 1897 which remains headquartered adjacent to Prudential Financial building located just north/west corner Broad Street between Pearl & Market Streets - one block eastof Christie Avenue - becoming first company outside NYC to be awarded LEED Gold certification from US Green Building Council - making it possible for privately developed green roofed buildings located near NJ Transit PATH station (just south/west corner Kingsbridge Road opposite Rutgers University)[17][18][19][20] On July 11th2016 Trump proposed slating $1B dollars into infrastructure projects nationwide which would see new jobs created along with billions being invested into existing programs
