Millville is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 11,611 at the 2010 census. Millville is part of the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area. Millville was founded by men of Dutch descent in 1795 as a small farming community on the south side of what is now Newtown Reservoir. In 1834, when Morristown Township was created from parts of Middlesex and Sussex counties, Millville became part of that township. In 1868, when Camden County was formed from most of Morris and Burlington counties, Millville became part of that county too. As Camden County grew more populous and diversified its economy with manufacturing businesses located along the Delaware River Valley and beyond (including Allentown), gunmaker Samuel Colt purchased land in what is now Millvale for his new milltown development; it formally began operations in 1870. Today's milltown contains about sixty buildings dating back to 1800 including some original millstones still used today such as the one used to power the first electric lights in America. Gunmakers played an important role throughout much of American history and continue to do so today; many famous brands were started or headquartered here including Ruger®, Smith & Wesson®, Winchester® ATF rifles and pistols, Colt Firearms Corporation (nowSmith & Wesson), Remington Arms Company (now Remington) among others. The city processed over 2 million firearms during Prohibition which led to some building being destroyed but also helped contribute to the growth of gun ownership overall in America since then – see "The History Of Gun Ownership In America" by Robert Janssen for more information on this topic derailed somewhat with recent mass shootings like Sandy Hook Elementary School where 15 children were slaughtered with handguns while another 265 people were injured inside.)

The first firearms in Millville were muskets. The town was founded by George White in 1795, and early gunsmiths built rifles, pistols, shotguns, and other firearms. In 1812, the first school was established in the town. The first store opened in 1819. In 1838, a canal was built through the town and mills began to be developed around it. Gunsmiths became involved in this development as well and began making rifles and pistols for sale to the public. By 1840, there were twenty-four stores operating in Millville. In 1844, a Local Board of Education was organized which provided educational opportunities for residents of Millville. This board also created the millinery industry which would flourish throughout Millville's history. In 1850, a blacksmith shop was established which continued to operate until 1964 when it closed due to lack of business opportunity.
Millville is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Millville was incorporated as a borough on March 12, 1914. It is part of the Camden metropolitan area. The first settler in Millville was Jobie Wiggins who arrived in 1781 and built the first mill on the current site of the present day mill complex. The mills were operated by local farmers until 1825 when Abraham Eckstein purchased the mill and began to produce flour for sale through his store in Bordentown. In 1827, he also built a gristmill which still stands today and grinds corn into flour for local markets. By 1840, there were five mills operating within Millville Borough limits; all but one closed by 1860 due to competition from larger mills in nearby towns such as Camden and Vineland. However, despite this competition, Eckstein continued to operate his mills until his death in 1865. In 1914, when Monmouth County was created from parts of Middlesex and Union counties, Millville became one of its seven municipalities. On March 12th of that year it had a population of 590 residents with thirty-one businesses established within its borders including four grocery stores (The Corner Store Company - 1915), two meatpacking plants (Lipman's Gourmet Packers - 1916 & 1922) and two banks (First National Bank - 1916). Although originally intended only as an agricultural township with little commercial or industrial potential outside its boundaries, over time Millville grew rapidly as various industries emerged around it such as printing and publishing companies (Eckstein Printing & News Company - 1918), garment manufacturers (Draper's Mills Incorporated 1917-1920) and footwear retailers (Bennett Shoes Co.) All these businesses brought new jobs to town while maintaining close ties with their original families who resided here through generations of production/commerce partnerships. Today’s vibrant community celebrates its rich history with annual events like “FamiliesFest” which features live music concerts throughout the festival weekend featuring family-friendly activities like food trucks,. arts&crafts vendors etc., as well as interesting talks about local industry topics during special event hours throughout the weekdays!

Millville is a town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. It was formed from the merger of two villages, Millville and Westwick. The population was 5,853 at the 2010 census. The name "Millville" comes from an early mill on the Mill River. The first Europeans to visit the area were Native Americans who built their own hunting and fishing lodges along the riverbank. In 1664, English settlers arrived in what is now Mercer County and began Farming practices which led to increased production of grain and other crops that became staples of American diets. In 1802, George Washington's family moved to Princeton Township where they founded Princeton Academy which still operates today as a private school with over 1,000 students from grades pre-K through 12th grade. In 1812, John Stephenson became engaged to Fanny Wright (the daughter of Captain George Wright) in what is now Millville Township and started moving goods by wagonloads downriver to Newark for sale. This started what would become known as "The Wagon Trade." By 1830, there were more than 100 businesses operating in Millville with wages averaging $4 per day for men and $1 per day for women workers; this made it one of the most prosperous towns in New Jersey during that time frame according to historian Leonard Wieseltier Jr.. The town also boasted several high schools including Dickinson School (now part of Rutgers University), Beebe College (now part of Monmouth University), Presbyterian School (later Morristown College) and Bethlehem Hospital which served as both a hospital and mental hospital until it closed in 1959 due to budget cuts by Governor James Buchanan after he became President Eisenhower's Vice President! In 1849, a fire destroyed much of downtown Millville leaving only a few buildings standing. However, within days many new businesses had opened up around what is now First Avenue including A&P grocery store/market/drugstore chain originally founded by Nicholas D’Angelo & Sons bakery owners Isaac Asimov & Abraham D’Angelo on Broad Street just east of Second Avenue; later renamed Gateway Drug Store; Post Office Department store operated by Rufus King; ice cream parlor “Cindy”s Ice Cream Parlour Opened December 1st 1912 And lastedUntil1963 when It Was Shut Down By Authorities After Claims Of Illegal Sales During Cold Weather Scenes During World War II much activity took place here such as Cotton Production Plant operated By Borden Paper Company That manufactured Newsprint For The U S Government And Later Burdens Mills Company who produced flour for civilian consumption Also Manufactured Cigarettes Here .All This Activity Led To Decreased Population Which Resulted In decreasing Property Value Which Caused Mayor To cigar smoke Out In Public From 1951 On .Today More People Live In adjacent towns Of Rahway And East Brunswick But Still Many reminisce About What OnceWas At Millvale

The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Delaware River, and by 1800, it had a population of over 100 people. By 1834, the town had increased to over 200 people, and by 1861, it had reached its present size. The town was incorporated as a municipality in 1896. In 1934, Millville became the first community in New Jersey to receive air conditioning for their homes.
