Lindenwold, New Jersey is located in the northeastern United States and is bordered by Delaware to the east, Pennsylvania to the west, and New York City to the north. The borough was formed on December 14th, 1824 from part of Elizabeth Township. Lindenwold's population reached 5,816 in 2010 according to the borough's website. The town of Lindenwold was founded by settlers in 1795. The first settler arrived in 1798 and named it after his home country of Holland. By 1800, there were about twenty families living in small cabins on a peninsula that juts out into James River. In 1814, a group of men led by Daniel Boone selected this spot as their new village site because it was accessible from both ends ofthe river. They called it "Booneville." In 1824, when Elizabeth Township was divided into two parts – one including Lindenwold and the other including Newark – Lindenwold became part of what is now Delaware County. On December 14th,1824, a group of seven men heading for Philadelphia took an oxcart down James River to reach what is now Elizabethtown where they disembarked and started building homes. After years of negotiation between local leaders and English investors who had offered land grants for settlements around these areas (including those near Princeton), Lindenwold's incorporation as a borough occurred on October 1st, 1907 with 947 residents. One hundred thirty-four years later its population has grown slightly but steadily: according to Borough records dating back to 2004 there are now 2,497 residents living within bounds of Lindenwald Park which covers almost all acres inside our borders! It should be noted that despite this growth there have never been more than 400 people living within our limits at any given time! Lindenwald experienced some major milestones during its history; such as being designated as part of Camden County when it was separated from Middlesex County in 1898 or becoming an official city within New York City when Mayor John Fenton announced its annexation into Manhattan on November 24th 1896! From 1907-1964 there were also thirteen mayors representing various parts Of New Jersey while Lindsey continued being governed under Borough government guidelines until 1998 when changes were made that gave full city rights status which continue today!
Lindenwold was founded in 1795 by Isaac Linden and his wife, Deborah. The town was named after the Linden family, which had a home in the town. The first post office in the town was established in 1807. In 1827, the township of Lindenwold was formed from parts of Clinton Township and West Orange Township. The township boundaries were redrawn in 1952. In 1985, the township of Union Park was merged into Lindenwold.
