In 1834, the first school in Lindenwold was opened. It was a small, one-room school with twenty students. The first teacher, Mrs. Fenton, taught for two years before she became sick and resigned. In 1836, Mr. Knowles took over as the first teacher and taught until 1840 when he moved to Princeton to become a professor at Princeton University. In 1845, Dr. John Haddon took over as the first permanent teacher at Lindenwold School and taught until 1861 when he moved to Easton to become a doctor. In 1865, Mrs. Senter took over as the first permanent teacher and taught until 1870 when she died due to tuberculosis. In 1874, Mr. Ritchie became the first permanent teacher at Lindenwold School and continued teaching until 1880 when he moved to Easton to become an insurance agent. From 1880-1892, Mrs…. (remains unknown) served as the second permanent teacher atLindenwold School before becoming a housewife in 1896 after her husband's death from pneumoniasent her home for health reasons . After World War II ended in 1945 there were no more teachers in Lindenwold School so it closed down on December 12th of that year . It reopened on January 1st of 1946 under new management with Mrs…. (remains unknown) serving as the third permanentteacher from that date forward
