In 1863, Abraham Lincoln visited Newark and decided that this beautiful park should be designated within the city limits rather than just inside its boundaries like it had been before. He donated 5 more acres to help make this happen and today we enjoy all that there is in this great piece of infrastructure – including two baseball diamonds (one dating back to 1896), soccer fields (1935), tennis courts (1968), anda children's play area (1992). One of the most famous events that took place in or around Lincoln Park was President Abraham LINCOLN'S visit on April 12th 1865 following his election victory over Andrew Johnson! This event helped solidify New Jerseys relationship with Washington D C – something that would later be referenced during THE WAR FOR NORMALITY! Many other famous people have also spent time here such as Franklin Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, U2 frontman Bono etc... And don't forget about those who actually live here – plenty of restaurants and bars dotting every inch of this wonderland!
