The Kearny Rifle Stock Company was formed in 1867 in Kearny, New Jersey by John D. Kearney and his brother-in-law, Jesse H. Prentice. The company made rifles from a variety of materials such as wood, metal, plastic, and composites. The company won several awards for their products including being the first to manufacture a rifle stock that could be custom fit to each individual rifle owner. In 1913, the company merged with the National Firearms Museum to form the National Firearms Museum and History Center which remains an important resource for firearms historians today.

In 1860, the Kearny Rifle and Pistol Armory was founded. It became a state-owned firearms manufacturing facility in 1912. In 1935, it became part of the National Firearms Act purporting to be an organization which manufactured only military rifles and shotguns for use by the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard forces during World War II. In 1969, it converted to a pistol production plant; however, this ceased production after just one year due to financial difficulty. The building that housed the original rifle stock factory is now used as a training center for law enforcement officers from New Jersey.
Kearny is a borough in New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Kearny is located on the edge of the Monmouth County town of Middletown and is bordered by Union City to the east, Elizabeth to the north, Plainsboro to the west and Edison Township to the south. The first Europeans known to have lived in what is now Kearny were Dutch settlers who founded a small farming village in 1664 on land that still stands today known as Old Fort Warren. This settlement was abandoned in 1667 when English forces burned nearby settlements during their military campaign against Dutch colonists. The area that would become Kearny was surveyed by Captain John Stevens and named for Nicholas-Jacques de la Haye, Sieur de La Salle’s aide-de-camp and friend. The first white person recorded as living in what is now Kearny Township was George Washington who arrived there with his band of Marines on July 14, 1776 during America’s War for Independence. One of America’s earliest post offices was established at Old Fort Warren in 1784 which served as the headquarters for American forces fighting in North America during both World Wars I and II. In 1812, Colonel Jeremiah Dowling purchased from Nicholas-Jacques de la Haye a tract of land extending from what is now Kearney Township into Middlesex County which he named after himself, Jeremiah Dowling Park. When New Jersey became a state on November 3, 1847, part of Middlesex County remained underNew Jersey jurisdiction while part of Monmouth County – including Kearny – became part of New York State. As part of this changeover process, many German immigrants settled in northwestern Monmouth County following their liberation from Nazi Germany during World War II; these refugees helped contribute significantly to the growth and vibrancy of Kearny over ensuing decades. In 1951, following passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Congress passedthe Military Occupation Tax Act which provided extraterritorial tax status for certain foreign nationals living within United States borders who had been enlisted or drafted into service with our military prior to September 11th 2001; this exemption applied primarily to those serving aboard US Navy ships operating out of Overseas Ports or Naval Air Stations inside US waters subject only unto applicable taxes applicable thereto (i.e., income tax withheld). Despite claims by some members of Congress that this exemption had expired due primarily to budgetary constraints arising from sequestration measures associated with sequestration debates that week preceding its enactment,[1] this exemption continued generally unenforced until December 22nd 2009 when it was finally repealed effective January 1st 2010 pursuant to section 6031(a)of Title 10 U .S . Code.[2] As one result thereof[3], numerous dual citizens/resident aliens residing herein currently enjoy full legal privileges & benefits enjoyed thereby by residents elsewhere within THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA without having theretofore materially violated any specific law therein pertaining thereto such as residency requirements set forth therein[4]. While not allDual Citizens are Italian Americans & many Dual Citizens are not ItalianAmericans they do constitute an sizeable minority & together they make up most Dual Citizen populations across AMERICA

Kearny was a small town in New Jersey when it was founded in 1714 by Captain John Kearny and his men during the War of Independence. The town quickly became a center for trade and commerce, with its harbor becoming one of the most important in the area. In 1838, Kearny was renamed for General George Washington, who had helped lead America into independence. The town continued to grow over the years, and by 1920 it had reached its current size. Today, Kearny is a quiet community with a rich history that has been preserved through its Historic District which includes some of the most significant buildings in the town. The first Europeans to settle in what is now Kearny were Dutchman Hendrick van der Kamp and Jan Baptist Van der Sloot. They arrived around 1624 and built a trading post on what is now Chapel Street. Over time, other Dutchmen also came to live here, including Johan de Witt and Michiel Pauwels. By 1714, Captain John Kearny had founded the town of Kearney on Staten Island after driving out local Native Americans with his rifle company during the Battle of Fort Washington (1711). In 1838, General George Washington named General James Kieft as Commander-in-Chief of all American forces in Europe because he felt that Kieft could give guidance to American soldiers while they fought abroad against Napoleon Bonaparte’s regime. After Kieft’s death in 1841, Major-General Winfield Scott took command of American forces in Europe and made Kearney one of his key supply points along the Swiss border. At this time, many people thought that President Andrew Jackson would make an issue out of preserving this important connection between America and her allies during her war against Napoleon Bonaparte. However, nothing happened until after Jackson was elected president in November 1800; then Congress appropriated $5 million for military projects throughout Europe under United States Department Of War policy known as “the Quantico Project” which involved rebuilding roads AND fortifications along our European borders so that we could fight off any future threats from France or Spain! Kearny played an important role within this project as well – it was here that General James Kieth developed plans for creating two new Ulysses S Grant Roads which connected Baltimore & Richmond IN addition to developing another road from Princeton NJ terminus at Middletown PA; these Roads eventually became known as I-95 & I-80! During World War II (1939-1945), large munitions plants were constructed here including Westinghouse Electric Company’s Pascagoula plant (now part of CBS Corporation) which manufactured plutonium weapons; Bethlehem Steel Company’s Massey Harris plant (now part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) which produced tanks & artillery shells; Arnold Aircraft Corporation’s Willow Run Plant(now Lockheed Martin) which manufactured jet aircraft engines; Ford Motor Company’s Dearborn Truck Plant(now Monex Inc.)which manufactured buses etc.; finally Belknap Glass Works located at nearby Carbondale NJ produced high quality windows for both private homes (& office towers)! After World War II ended (1945), many residents moved away to continue their careers or start families elsewhere but many vestiges remain today such as shops/restaurants called The Olde Towne House restaurant located on Main Street near where North Broadway meets South Broadway street - opened circa 1925 - contains memorabilia from early 20th century America including items such as a Revolutionary Constitution bookplate inscribed "To His Excellency George Washington" - still owned by family who resides there today! Kearney's first school opened up shop less than 2 years after Captain John Kearney settled here – Schoolhouse #1 on present day riverbank across from Presbyterian church – taught children 3rd grade until about 1870 when Children went to Union High School 1 ½ miles downriver where further instruction began ~ 1870 until 1955 when school closed due to lackOf funds . Kearny was a census-designated place (CDP) in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population at the 2010 census was 14,731. It is part of the Camden–NJ–Hollywood region. The Kearny CDP covers all of the eastern side of Kearny Township and most of the western side of Monmouth County north to Interstate 95 and east to South Lakehurst Road. It contains the villages of Allendale, Belleville, Cedar Grove, Fort Lee, Hackensack and Ladue. In 1821 Delaware Native American Chief Quakertown was established on land that became Kearny CDP after it was disputed between John Stevens and Anthony Morris over who had first claimed it. In 1875 as a result of an act by the New Jersey Legislature which added Monmouth County to New York state, Kearny CDP became part of New York City. In 1898 when Monmouth County merged with Atlantic County, Kearny CDP remained within Atlantic County but also annexed part of Cherry Hill in Middlesex County due to population growth there during that time period. According to the United States Census Bureau , Kearney had a total area of 7 square miles (17 km²), including 5 square miles (15 km²) of water).
