Keansburg is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden-Newark-Atlantic City metropolitan area. The town was named after John Kean, who owned land here in 1795. The first settler was John Hillyer and his family, who arrived in 1797. They were followed by Nicholas Findlay and his family in 1800. A post office called Keansburg was established in 1802, and remained in operation until 1865. In 1830, two brothers named Isaac and Elijah McCoy founded a grist mill on the east side of the street that became known as McCoy's Millrace. This milling village thrived for several decades before it went out of business around 1855 due to increased competition from larger towns along Route 9 north of Keansburg. Some early residents of Keansburg include George Wurster (1813–93), Hanson Barber (1827–92), David Broughton (1831–1911), Samuel Gwynn (1842–1920), Augustus Kelley (1845–1925), Fenton Welshman (1849–1924) and Alfred Payson Bedford (1860–1945). The post office closed on September 30th 1865 due to low mail traffic; however, there still exists a stamp issue from this time period which features an image of Mr. & Mrs.(name unknown) with their four children - one standing behind each parent! In 1868 a large frame engine house stood on what is now Main Street near where Market Street meets Township Road 515B; this house served as the town hall until it burned down in 1922 In 1924/25 three small stores were built around what are now Fourth Avenue and Third Street - these stores acted as services for all three villages surrounding Keansburg – Blackstone Valley, Lawnville and Ridgefield Township – until they all merged into one entity under the name “KeANSBURG” on October 1st 1925 . finally On July 4th 1952 two new churches were dedicated: First Baptist Church located on Park Avenue west of Third Street while Second Baptist Church was erected east off Old Pike just south of Veterans Memorial Boulevard . both Churches remain active to this day There have been many changes over the years including; but certainly not least among them has been the growth in housing stock which has contributed significantly to today’s population size . Development began almost 50 years ago when plans were made for an elementary school which never materialized however; What eventually took its place was what is currently known as McKean Elementary School ..... Finally we come to today’s population size – 2,814 people living within walking distance or less to most activities including shopping centers such as Smith's Retail Store located just outside township limits next door to township hall open 7 days a week since 1978
In the early 1800s, firearms were not commonly carried around with individuals. Owners had to find a safe place to keep their firearms, and there was no standard way for people to identify which firearm was theirs. One solution was to use a pouch made from cloth or leather. These pouches often had a hole in the center that allowed someone to draw out the firearm without having it fall out of the pouch. Another feature of these pouches was that they often had straps that prevented them from falling off when the individual carrying it used their arm or shoulder muscles to lift it up. One of the first gun pouches designed specifically for handguns was created by an American inventor named Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1821. This particular design featured four straps around the outside perimeter of the pouch so that it could be easily carried on one’s person’s hip or shoulder. It also had a sewn-in compartment inside which held two rounds of ammunition for each handgun being carried. Eventually, other designers came up with similar designs and eventually became known as “gun pouches”. The most common type today is typically made from nylon fabric and features either two loops at each side or four long straps (sometimes called “pouch handles”) that allow it to be easily transported across any surface. Some gun pouches even have built-in compartments just like those found on traditionalcigarette cases!

Keansburg is a small community in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,519 at the 2010 census. Keansburg is part of the Newark–Trenton metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Keansburg were Dutch settlers in 1614. They named their new settlement after Hendrick Kieft, one of the leaders of the Dutch Golden Age colony of New Netherland. The English colonists arrived in 1664 and named their new town after John Constantine Kean, an Englishman who had come to America as a trader under the name Jeremiah Cooper. In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, General George Washington and his forces fought their way through New Jersey to reach Philadelphia and then join forces with British general Howe against revolutionary forces in Pennsylvania. At around the same time (late 1776), General John Burgoyne's army was marching through Morris County from north to south on its way to attack Philadelphia when they came across Keansburg on their march eastward from Trenton. Burgoyne ordered his troops not to stop but instead continued moving forward until they reached Princeton Junction where they rendezvoused with Howe's army at Cowpens Hill outside Philadelphia proper. Aftermath of Battle of Princeton junction: General Burgoyne’s army halted about two miles short of Trenton because he felt that he needed more ammunition for his upcoming battle against King George III’s armies closer at hand; this action was later known as “The Halt” or “The turning point” in American history because it ended British control over Morris County - essentially ending any hope that New Jersey would eventually become an independent country during the Revolutionary War. During The Halt, Patriot militiamen under Captains Nicholas Sparks and Thomas Paine stopped British horse artillery manned by Lieutenant Colonel James Strange near mile post 6teen on Route 9 east of Trenton; these patriots lost only three horses killed outright while some twenty-five men were captured including Captain Sparks who was commandant of West Point militia Company K which served under Brigadier General Nathanael Greene during The Halt;[1] this event became known as "The Battle Of Princeton Junction". Commodore James Cook sailed past Princeton Junction en route from Boston Harbor bound for Montreal aboard HMS Northumberland on October 3rd 1777 with instructions from Admiral Samuel Graves to search for French ships off Cape May but no results were found despite numerous searches throughout 2 days[2]. Commodore Cook reported backdated information received from privateerprivateers Evert de Witt which led him conclude that there must be French shipping present near cape May – away from Boston Harbor – so he changed course northeastwards and made landfall at Monmouth Shoals November 8th [3]. Upon return voyage November 10th Commodore Cook located five enemy vessels off Cape May Furthermore Commodore Cook realized that none of these ships could have been involved in transporting arms or supplies towards Canada due to high winds[4]; this event became known as "the Capture OfCapEMay" by historians today
Keansburg is a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 12,857. The name derives from Keansburgh Plantation. The first Europeans to arrive in Keansburg were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1664 and 1665. The British Expedition under General John Monmouth landed at Sandy Hook on Staten Island on October 14, 1776 and began their march across New Jersey to attack Princeton University near Trenton on October 29; they reached Princeton without being able to cross the Delaware River. On November 3rd, the British army found itself engaged at Mount Hope during an artillery engagement that resulted in a total loss for the Americans with just over 100 men killed or wounded. When hostilities ceased on December 11th after almost two years of continuous campaigning by both sides, only 10 Americans remained within New Jersey – three residents of Keansburg and six soldiers from Princeton University.
