It is part of the Union City, NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Highland Park" may be from the Irish Highlanders who settled in this area around 1800. The log-and-stone house on Prospect Avenue that still stands today was built by Judge David Herron in 1868 as his home and office. He served as President of the United States (1865-1867) and as Mayor of Union City (1872-1875). In 1892, he sold his interest in the house to Judge James Fenton for $6,000. The first post office in Highland Park was established on March 3, 1885. The name changed to Union City on November 12th of that year after it merged with eight other townships in Hudson County to become a county municipality under New York State government during the consolidation period known as Reconstruction times. In 1908, Highland Park became one of eleven townships within newly created Hudson County that were annexed by Jersey City into New Jersey due to an increase in population density within Middlesex County during the Great Depression which had a significant impact on rural areas such as Highland Park like ours. Since then many changes have occurred to HighlandsPark including annexations by Asbury Park Township (1992), Paterson Township (2001), and Ramapo Borough (2008). One highlight has been our recent addition of Pascack Hills which takes its name from its founder Drs Rudolph Wachtel and Adolph Hesse who donated land for development there over fifty years ago when their farm lay just outside our borders along Route 9 South near Egg Harbor Township line

As these new designs became more prevalent they began incorporating features not found on earlier models including Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) buses, parallel port support, memory cards reader/writer readers/writers and input devices such as joystick controllers or touch pads. An important milestone in this history is the development of microprocessor technology by Intel which facilitated increased performance when used with HCKMs using its 80486 microprocessor series from 1986 until 1992 resulting in approximately 2 million transactions per second over 430MHz bus speed using single core processors only. Today many HCKM manufacturers still use microprocessors due their superior overclocking capabilities; however it should be noted that modern hardware specifications are no longer achievable on older equipment without significant increases in power consumption or cooling requirements

In 1916, after World War I ended, Highland Park experienced its first boom period thanks to the influx of soldiers returning home from Europe. Many new businesses were established in the community such as an insurance office and a grocery store named Weiske Bros.. The population grew rapidly during this time and new housing developments were erected around downtown areas such as Third Street and Ridge Road. Families began moving out of town towards larger cities during this time but many residents remain proud locals who contribute to local life through events like golf tournaments or festivals throughout the year
