Hawthorne was once a thriving town in the Township of Camden, New Jersey. The area now known as Hawthorne was first settled by English colonists in the 17th century and was controlled by the Dutch until 1674. In 1834, Hawthorne became part of the newly formed township of Camden. TheWeapon Flashlight company was founded in 1911 by Harry Stern and his brother-in-law Ernest Grosse. The village of Hawthorne was first settled in 1784 and incorporated as a municipality in 1802. The present-day town was founded by James Witherspoon Hawthorne on November 3, 1825 from portions of the township of East Brunswick Township. In 1829, it was moved to its current location within Union County following what is now called the Hawthorne Purchase. The community's name may be derived from early settler John Witherspoon Haworth who purchased landTotal including that now located in Hawthorne for £10 per acre ($16 per square mile). The first post office at Hawthorne opened on December 12, 1827, and remained in operation until May 2, 1865; it was reestablished as a post office under the new name of Northumberland on January 1, 1874. As of 2010, there were 718 residents living in Hawthorne Borough and 609 residents living in Northumberland Borough (the two towns are combined into one municipality). Hawthorn has several churches including First Methodist Church which was built circa 1902 and Holy Trinity Catholic Parish which was built circa 1928. There are also several businesses such as PNC Bank & Trust Company and Hess Corporation Ltd., all of which have been around since prior to incorporation into municipalities.

It also had a range of up to 100 yards and could be powered by three AAA batteries or an AC adapter. In 1959, Soviet scientist Ivan Terentiev filed a patent for what is now known as the Taser Gun flashlight which consisted of an electronic ballpoint pen type light bulb that was attached directly to the barrel of a gun using an elastic bandage method. It could be used both offensively and defensively against unarmed adversaries while being undetectable without special equipment. The weapon flashlight became popular among law enforcement officials due to its easy operation and ability to see in darkness while targeting combatants or suspects

Hawthorne is a small town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 3,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Paterson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Hawthorne was Captain Isaac Smith and his family who arrived in 1788. They were the only white people to live in the area at that time. In 1802, John Leland bought land near what is now Hawthorne from George Washington and laid out a township on it for himself and his tenants. In 1807, Ebenezer Haworth founded what is now Hawthorne as a farming community northeast of Princeton on land he had purchased from Leland. The town grew rapidly and by 1827 it had a school, store, blacksmith shop, Methodist church, Presbyterian church (1829), three-story frame house (1830), and two other buildings including a barn and stable. Hawthorne became an incorporated municipality on April 14, 1834 with 30 residents following its incorporation proceedings which were held at the home of Mayor Moses Whitehead. By 1840 there were 100 residents in Hawthorne according to Census reports but by 1850 it had decreased to 10 due to increased settlement around Newark across the river. Hawthorne experienced some economic hardship during the Great Depression but rebounded after World War II with growth in businesses such as candy stores, film theaters and pharmaceuticals companies until suburbanization began occurring throughout New Jersey during the early 21st century which has resulted in Hawthornes shrinking size and influence over recent decades although its nameakes remains present within its borders despite having no residentry since 1978
