Hammonton is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 5,546. The name Hammonton is thought to derive from two early Dutch settlers named Hamer and Meekenhorst (Meeken means "to plant" and hart meaning "neck"). The first European settler in what is now Hammonton was Nicholas van der Bogaert who came over with his family in 1677. He began farming land around what is now Princeton Avenue and Prospect Street. The area that makes up present-day Hammonton was first settled by Dutch colonists in 1681 as part of the Morrisania Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town's original boundaries were along New Brunswick Avenue to the north, Princeton Avenue to the east, Broad Street to the south and Market Street to the west. In 1854, when Middlesex County was created, Hammonton became one of its six townships. On May 25th of that year it granted incorporation to a group of German immigrants led by Captain Johann Georg Fuhrmann who had come over on a ship called "Elbe". At that time there were only seven families living within the limits of what are now Elmira and Northvale Streets; all but four had originated from Hamburg or nearby Anhalt in Germany. During World War II much of what is now Borough Park was destroyed bybombing raids conducted by American forces during their invasion of Europe known as Operation Overlord which took place on September 8th 1944; this included many neighbourhoods within what are today Borough Park including those located within present-day Elmira/Northvale Streets as well as parts east and west of Market Street including Borough Park proper which lay within then Easton Township until 1945 when it became part of West Hanover Township following America's entry into World War II. I would like to discuss some aspects about my home town specifically: It has been my pleasure to travel throughout New Jersey quite often - both inside & outside our state I have seen beautiful sites such as Phila., Camden NJ., Atlantic City NJ., Newark NJ., Edison NJ...It truly feels like my home town! With so many great places To go Shopping & dine out I find myself constantly overwhelmed! There really isn't anything I wouldn't do for groceries or food here! Although we may not always have everything we need there isn't anything wrong with trying something new or finding an online store closer to you if you are looking for certain items! We also have great parks such as Plumstead Playground & Boonton Hills Nature Preserve where our kids can play without fear Of getting lost or having too much noise etc... Overall community spirit seems pretty good here especially considering how different each person may feel from each other lol

Hammonton is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough's population was 18,828. The name of the borough comes from Hammonton Creek which flows through it. The first European to visit what is now Hammonton was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524; he named it after his home town of Verrazzano on the Strait of Gibraltar. In 1664, the Dutch founded a military post called Fort Nassau (now part of Philadelphia) on present-day Staten Island and began to plant crops there. They also built a millrace that ran directly into Hammonton Creek for powering their mills. In 1714, when Monmouth County was formed from portions of Middlesex and Hunterdon counties, Hammonton was annexed by Middlesex County and became known as part of that county’s section known as West Wildwood. It remained an English-speaking community until 1795 when all but one quota of white men were forced out by the French during their attempt to take over North America and establish a French colony in this area. In 1815, when New Jersey was admitted into the Union as a state, Hampton Township arose from parts of West Wildwood Township along with other townships within Middlesex and Hunterdon Counties to form Monmouth County. At that time all except three percent (3/100ths) of its residents were white freeholders who voted for members of Congress notaries public who represented them in Washington D.C.. The remaining 97% were townspeople who elected two commissioners (one each from Monmouth Borough and West Wildwood Township). Hammonton reached its peak population around 1880 due to increased railroad traffic following the opening up of new markets in Atlantic City and Camden due to increased competition from those cities' new suburbs development westward along Route 9W (the old Atlantic Railroad line). By 1910 only 10%of its residents still lived within hamlet boundaries while 80% lived outside them on farms or roads nearNEW YORK CITY proper where they picked up jobs then transported back home once they had earned enough money to support themselves without working off their land concessions which ended atNMHC after 1950 thanks largely to Interstate 95 running through NJ & NY - making rural life much more difficult than it ever has been before! Despite this decline however Population peaked again in 1970 at 21K though slowly declining since then… primarily due To rising costs associated with healthcare & other lifestyle changes brought about by advances in technology!
