In 1834, Congress passed the Second Treaty of Paris which ended the War of 1812 and granted independence to America's then-new country: Canada included both Hunterdon and Morris Counties into its new territory. As part of this treaty, Canada set aside land for a village called Grummanstown on Long Island Sound opposite Hackensack River where Hankinson Mansion now stands - one of only two remaining buildings from that time period in NJ (the other being Fort Lee). On October 25th 1835 local farmer Ebenezer Muggs donated land to form what would become known as Borough of Edison – including what is now Hudson Valley Village – with an enrollment size of just 64 people; it wasHunterdon’s very small government until incorporation by ordinance on April 15th 1870! It wasn’t until 1898 when Borough Mayor John Fenton issued his famous proclamation calling for “a Village on Our Lake” which eventually became known as Edison! In 1906 Borough Council adopted Resolution 607 designating Edison Park as Hunterdon Park! And finally on July 1st 1922 when Town voters adopted Corporation Ordinance No 8236 making Edison an incorporated town!

Haddonfield, New Jersey is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,844 at the 2000 census. Haddonfield is part of the Camden-Easton-Newark Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in what is now Haddonfield were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1624 and named it "Wolcott." In 1764, James Logan granted lands to George Washington and his brothers as part of their settlement of West Deptford Township. Haddonfield was incorporated as a village on March 8, 1834. It became an incorporated town on November 14, 1854. On October 13, 1890, the name of the town was changed to honor General Anthony Wayne (1775–1847).
Haddonfield was founded by Nahum Haddon in 1720, and was incorporated as a town in 1814. The population of Haddonfield increased to over 10,000 by the end of the 19th century. In 1915, the first public school opened in Haddonfield. In 1938, the town administration merged with nearby Cedar Grove Township to form an unincorporated community called Cedar Grove.
