In 1849, part of Haddonfield was annexed by Newark while part of Union Township; this annexation created what is now called North Wildwood Township. In 1871, parts of South Wildwood Township (including present-day Paramus) were merged into North Wildwood Township; this merger created what is now EastParamus Township. On March 15th 1870, portions of Rahway and Sayreville were added to North Wildwood township; these townships also formed what is now Ridgewood Park neighborhood on the eastern edge of South Wildwood township’s border with Englewood Cliffs Borough NJ

Haddonfield is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,717 at the 2010 census. It is located on the South Branch of the Passaic River and forms part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The first European settlers arrived in 1681 when Christopher Haddon and his brother George founded a farmstead called Haddonfield on what is now North Avenue in what is now Borough Park. In 1714, Samuel Wigglesworth bought land east of North Avenue from Nicholas Street to form the present-day borough boundaries. From 1811 to 1814, Haddonfield was part of Union Township (now Camden). In 1834, William Cranch took over management of the Passaic Railroad from James Biddle and began operating it as a line between Englewood and Paterson via Haddonfield. By 1860, only 15 people lived in Haddonfield while all but one of the railroad's stops were in Union Township. However, by 1870 there were 1,600 residents living in town proper with 5 businesses and 10 schools; almost half of them were Catholics who had come from upstate New York during Pontiac's Rebellion against Great Britain. On December 3rd, 1886 President Grover Cleveland announced that he was creating a new U.S., or "Greater America", including every state except for Delaware which would be divided into two parts: California Territory would go to Southern California while Pennsylvania would become an integral part of West Virginia; this gave rise to speculation that Haddonfield might be included among those states within "Greater America". On January 2nd18788 Carl Schurz became secretary at War under Cleveland and immediately ordered all military posts throughout America closed so that troops could be withdrawn to support American victory over Mexico at Juarez; this led to increased demand for foodstuffs across Northeastern Pennsylvania so Schurz ordered production quotas for local farmers set at 50% more than normal levels given Mexican tariffs on goods exported into Ulysses S Grant's Department! These industrial developments spawned thousands additional jobs throughout municipal government services such as zoning regulations promulgated seeking industrial areas not only within city Limits but also beyond where they previously operated or had been authorized by previous administrations; permissive zoning policies helped further attract heavy industry away from urban centers towards outer suburban communities like Parsippany Heights north-central Bergen County and Caldwell Springs northeast Monmouth County – neighborhoods known today primarily for their ring road addresses rather than any significant local retail establishments or cultural attractions apart from beautiful parks dotting their borders like Paramus Highlands west Long Beach Township northwest Teaneck Borough).
