Haddonfield is a borough in New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,898 at the 2010 census. Haddonfield is located on the eastern edge of Hackensack Township and is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The township was formed on November 3, 1780, from portions of Bergen County. Wyckoff's brother founded the town of Hackensack in 1664 as part of an effort by the Dutch East India Company to control territory between Bergen County and New Netherland which had been gained from Sweden during the Beaver Wars (1644-1648). On November 3, 1780, portions of Bergen County were annexed by Haddonfield as part of a larger land grant given to Colonel Nicholas Jansen by King George III in honor of his father-in-law Pte Johann Wilhelm de Witt (1715–1779), captain general and commander in chief Netherlands IndiesArmy during American Revolution. At that time there were no limits on how much land could be granted away for development within any township or village within such boundaries - this policy continued until 1834 when townships lost all their power to provide services within their own borders due to increased consolidation among municipalities into larger entities under state jurisdiction known as “the municipality system” – see also “Haddonfield Borough History” for additional information about this period in township history In 1838 Colonel Jansen donated another 20 acres (8 hectares) including today's downtown core for civic use as well as land eastward along Route 9 north towards Wawaqua Creek where he built himself a home called "Jansen's Hill". A year later he erected a small log schoolhouse which served students throughout our township until 1892 when instruction moved upriver to Raritan Valley High School . In 1896 John Fenton became superintendentof schools for Haddonfield Township; he remains our present superintendent."

Haddonfield is a town in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,826 at the 2010 census. It lies on the South Branch of the Delaware River and is traversed by I-95. The first European settlement in what would become Haddonfield dates to 1683 when Nicholas-Jacques Conte and his colonists arrived from France. Haddonfield's early settlers were primarily Dutch and Swiss refugees who had fled religious persecution in their home countries during the 1660s and 1670s. The town began as a small farming community, trading goods with nearby Philadelphia for clothing, food, horses and other items needed for life on the frontier of English America. In 1814, as part of an effort to secure land grants from then-British Prime Minister George III, some settlers formed a company known as "The Paterson Land Company." By 1821, however, most of Haddonfeld had deserted because of low prices for goods brought in by traders overland from Europe. In 1825–1827 (the last years of George Washington’s presidency), Nathan Bedford Forrest led a raid into Canadian territory along the Delaware River that destroyed or captured several villages near what is now Allendale Borough; these raids are sometimes considered to have been precedents of American Indian Wars. Many residents in Haddonfield left during this time due to fear for their safety because they did not know how British forces would react if they returned home after such an event without taking any captives or loot. In 1830–1832 (during Andrew Jackson’s presidency), lead mining operations began in present day West Deptford Township which later became part of Haddonfield proper; these mines produced large amounts of lead and zinc which were sold back into America at high prices before being melted down and used again in construction materials such as woodwind instruments until the late 19th century. During World War II many factories were located within proximity to each other near Allendale Avenue making it one stop on traffic coming into Camden city limits – including munitions plants adjacent to Newark Airport which manufactured Luftwaffe airplane parts using slave labor – turning it into one large manufacturing center that helped contribute significantly to wartime production totals across all sectors of American industry. After the war ended many people moved away from township boundaries towards larger municipalities such as Camden or Wilmington NJ but some remained behind including those who founded Saddle Brook Township after World War II while others like Edwin Shriver settled permanently outside township boundaries beginning around 1950 due largely to commuting issues caused by Interstate 95 status quo mainline traffic snarfing up smaller townships throughout New Jersey
