In 1832, Amos Sawyer opened up his owngunstore on Market Street in GlenRock - this time located across from Aiken's business! Sawyer's shop featured an extensive selection of firearms including pistols (including Smith & Wesson Model 2 revolvers), shotguns (including 12 gauge guns), rifles (including Winchesters), muzzleloaders (such as Conger cannons), handguns (such as Colt Model 6 Colts) among others! Additionally, Sawyer sold horsepowershafts (.50 caliber). In 1835-36, George Washington Carver operated a farm near Glen Rock with his family – which led to him starting to sell agricultural products such as hayseed meal and flour throughout the community! Consequently, various times during these years different businesses within Glen Rock would stop selling their product because they couldn't find enough customers who were interested in purchasing it! This is how manufacturers started requiring special permits from local authorities before peddling their products through townsspeople – ensuring that only licensed merchants could offer sales licenses without fear of being shut down or fined! During this time period there were also several instances where individuals decided to arm themselves against Indian raids; however these measures never became widespread due to lack of support from either government officials or citizens alike. Glen Rock was platted in 1795 and incorporated as a village in 1856. The name honor General James McAllister who fought in the American Revolution. The first settler was John Fenton. In 1898, Glen Rock became an independent city when it merged with Paramus Township to form the Newark metropolitan area. In 1940, Glen Rock annexed parts of East Brunswick Township which had been detached from its municipality since 1917 due to lack of population growth there after World War II ended and because its borders changed more than those of Paramus Township (east) and East Brunswick Township (west). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of , all land. But that does not mean that Glen Rock has been without its share of controversies and events. The town was founded by Scots settlers in the early 1800s, and during the course of their residency, they engaged in numerous disputes with other local communities. One such conflict led to the formation of Glen Rock village as a result of an attempted merger between two smaller settlements. Despite this history, Glen Rock has remained an attractive place to live and work over the years, thanks to its good schools and ample recreational opportunities. And despite this continued popularity, little is known about what happened to its former residents after they left for greener pastures. That is until now! Glen Rock’s story begins with a group of Scots immigrants who arrived in 1795. At first glance, these men may have appeared like any other group of newcomers – except for one important detail: They were looking for land where they could start anew. Given that New Jersey was still part of Scotland at this time, some decided to settle in what is now Morristown Township while others opted for the more remote villages located farther up the mountain chain. But even though these colonists had no choice but to move forward because new land had become available (thanks largely to British Columbia becoming part of Canada), their arrival did not sit well with many locals around them – especially those living within sight or experience of Morristown Township headquarters on Rte 20A (now Utopia Parkway). As Talking Stick Museum researcher John Yudkin recalled in an interview back in 1984: “The settlement [of Glenrock] didn’t quite fit into Society there because it wasn’t Scotch settler society so much as Dutch settler society... So there were all sorts o' discussions about how should we handle this new community coming here without having our approval?” In order to keep things under control, influential members of society formeda committee which became known as The Committee on Location & Development; their job was simplyto ensure that everything went according to plan and that no-one got ahead too fast." Despite initial conflict - which seems all too familiar today when it comes to towns tryingto merge with other nearby municipalities - eventually The Committee managed to create a semblanceof order within the fledgling community by setting forth specific rules regarding building standards, zoning laws, etc.; all while ensuring that everyone knew their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis each other. This system worked well enough for a few years before another problem cropped up: A large influx of English-speaking settlers began moving into town from outlying villages at high speed; consequently causing crime rates among the local Scots population To increase significantly. In response, The Committee elected themselves officials who would be responsible for monitoring crime rates and making sure that everything proceeded smoothly; however, due TO THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OR INTEREST ON PARTICIPATION BY LOCAL SCOTS GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS., IT WAS VERY difficult FOR THEM TO RESPOND QUICKLY TO CRIMINAL ACTS AND INCREASED RELATED RISKS." This situation only got worse as time passed; due partiallyaseither committees members nor administrators had any experience whatsoever dealing with English speaking settlers who were often quite unruly comparedTo Scottish migrants who were already used To ordering things around inside their own homes... It soon became clear thaTthere wasn't really anything thaTthecommitteecould do boutItself" Eventually enough tension boiled over leadingTO several fistsfights BETWEEN SCOTS Migrants AND ENGLISH SOUNDING NEWSTERS AS THEY MET IN PUBLIC RIGHT UPON THEIR ADMISSION INTO THE COMMUNITY.. ONE NEWSTER REPORTED THAT HE SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN STEALTOWARDS BY HIS OWN COUNCILOR BEFORE FIGHTS BREAK OUT' Eventually councilor James McMillin resigned AFTER REALising THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTROL THE ADDITIONAL STRAIGHT FROM ENGLISH SOUNDING NEWSTERS WHEN THEY COME INTO GLEN ROCK SO HE DECIDED NOT TO STAND UP AGAINST THE OTHER COUNCILORS WHEN THEY WERE TOLD ABOUT THIS.. ALSO BASED OFF OF THIS CONFLICT,. MORE fights broke out BETWEEN SCOTS Migrants AND ENGLISH SOUNDING NEWSTERS AS THEY MET IN PUBLIC RIGHT UPON THEIR ADMISSION INTO THE COMMUNITY.. ONE NEWSTER REPORTED THAT HE SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN STEALTOWARDS BY HIS OWN COUNCILOR BEFORE FIGHTS BREAK OUT'. Ultimately clansmen came together AGAIN WITHTHE PURPOSE OF REBUILDING PARADOXICAL STRUCTURES LIKE A CAMPAIGN ROOM WHERE ALL MEMBERS CAN MEET UNDER TITLE OF AN "ASSOCIATION" WHICH SEEKS TO KEEP GLENN ROCK UNITED AGAIN". BUT EVEN HERE SOME CLANSMEN FAILED TO COMPLETE THEIR OBJECTIVESOF BUILDING A STRUCTURE THAT WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY AGAIN"

Gun Owners Protective League chapters were started all over town and soon people were gathering around their local gunsmiths to buy ammunition and new guns. It wasn't until after World War I that Restrictive Acts made it difficult for Americans to purchase firearms without a sheriff's permission or through a licensed dealer. In 1933, Mayor James Kapp announced plans to build a new Municipal Building on Front Street which would be home to the municipal court and police department as well as the offices for both the American Legion Auxiliary and Rotary Club. This project received unanimous support from both City Council members (who had represented different parts of town) as well as Mayor Kapp himself who believed that this new municipally funded building would help bring more people into Gun Ownership throughouttown.
