The business was later renamed the Hardesty Firearms Corporation. In 1936, Harry Hardesty died and his son Edward took over the business. In 1949, the corporation merged with the Smith & Wesson Corporation to form theSmith & Wesson Corporation of America. In 1970, Smith & Wesson Corporation merged with Colt Incorporated to form Colt Firearms Industries LLC.

Glassboro is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 8,824 at the 2000 census. The name comes from the old glass family that lived there until the early 20th century. Glassboro is located on the Egg Harbor River about 12 miles (19 km) east of New Brunswick and 17 miles (27 km) west of Trenton. The first Europeans to explore this area were English traders and missionaries who came overland from North America in 1608–09. They named their new land "Egg Harbor" after an egg they found while exploring in what is now Delaware County. On July 24, 1664, John Smith led a group of Native Americans called the Lenni Lenape into battle against Major General George Monmouth at Mount Airy near what is now Glassboro Township. The Lenni Lenape retreated after Smith's defeat; but Monmouth took full advantage of the harsh conditions and killed many of the natives with his own hand sword. In 1814, when Glassboro became part of Uniontown Township, it had a population of just 10 people. By 1830, it had increased to 30 people and by 1850 it had reached 100 people. In 1868, when Glassboro was incorporated as a borough, its population numbered only 40 people; but within five years it had increased to 100 people and by 1880 to 150 people. In 1898 Glassboro became part of Hunterdon County when it was divided betweenHunterdon Township and Morrisburg Boroughs. From its beginning as an agricultural community to its present-day status as an industrial center for manufacturing products such as cheese and paper products, Glassboro has undergone significant growth since 1800 – largely due to its location on Route 26 between New Brunswick and Philadelphia – providing easy access to major markets for goods exported throughout much of North America during those times period including Europe via sea-going vessels known as clippers or sailing ships arrived regularly at various points along both coasts bringing trade goods back home with them on their voyages hitherto unknown or unimportantly less developed local communities did not have these opportunities which greatly retarded development potential

Glassboro, New Jersey (1947-present) is a township in Middlesex County, NJ, United States. It was formed on February 15, 1947 from portions of the former borough of Glassboro. The population was 25,940 at the 2010 census. The township is located in southeastern Middlesex County and includes the townships of Glassboro and Wayne. The town of Glassboro is located in the eastern portion of the township while Wayne is located in the western portion. The town of Glassboro was founded by English settlers in 1784 as part of what would become Middlesex County. The first permanent European settler arrived in 1786 when John Nicholson purchased land from George Washington for £200. Nicholson's nephew, Nicholas Woodbury also settled in Glassboro after moving to America from England that year. In 1814, glassmakers James Fenton and Jabez Bowen established a manufacturing business near present day Cherry Hill Avenue and Read Street which became known as Fenton & Bowen Glass Works until it merged with two other glass manufacturers to form Packing Company Corporation in 1915. In 1865, Samuel Jepson began production at his mill at Watertown Road and Cherry Hill Avenue where he continued until his death in 1924; his son Amos had followed him into operations after working at home during those years. In 1888 Smith Brothers Ice Cream parlor opened on Cherry Hill Avenue which became an important tourist spot for local residents during summertime because it allowed them to purchase ice cream without having to go outside). During World War II many local employment opportunities were available through munitions plants such as Edison Aircraft Factory where women processed lead ammunition; Paper Milling Company which produced paper products such as T-shirts and candy bars; Bethlehem Steel plant where workers made aircraft parts; Manchester Rubber Plant where tires were made; Ammunition factory employed 2,500 people making munitions including bombs Glassboro Township was chartered on February 15th 1947 by act of state under NJ Section 10:2(a). On March 26th 1957 Township voted 8-3 to annex Potterstown Borough due to lack of representation within Township Council however this annexation did not take place due to objections from Pottersville who claimed they would be out competed by their new neighbor On November 7th 1951 a referendum was held for voters within Township limits about whether or not they wanted join forces with adjoining Camden County - a vote that failed by just 5 votes On October 11th 1955 a referendum asking residents if they wanted annexed into Camden County passed with 94% voting yes By 1990 there were only 10 residents left living withinglassborougothistownshipandthepopulationdeclinedto fewerthan50by2000

In 1851, Glassboro became a borough. In 1915, Glassboro merged with neighboring Paramus to form Glassboro-Paramus Township. On January 1, 1984, Glassboro-Paramus Township was renamed Glassboro Borough.
