The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Delaware River at the mouth of the Monmouthshire Creek and its rich agricultural soils. In 1890, Garfield became a borough with a population of 653. In 1954, it became an incorporated town with a population of 3,664. During World War II, much of what now makes up Garfield was destroyed in bombing raids by both Allied and Axis forces; however much remains today including several parks and playgrounds as well as Garfield Elementary School which served students from prewar through high school graduation until 2013 when it merged into nearby West Township High School. The community has seen many changes over time: from being primarily agricultural to becoming predominantly manufacturing during the late 20th century; however recent trends have shown that agriculture is again declining whilemanufacturing is growing in popularity among local businesses such as plumbing services and homebuilding companies who are looking for sites within easy access to distribution centers for their products nationwide. Today's economy depends largely uponserved by two hospitals as well as several major corporations including PNC bank (the largest employer in town) as well Asbury Park University which offers various courses leading to degrees such as Business Administration or Health Science/Home Economics which play an important role in job growth across all industries throughout thetownship while also providing opportunities for young people interested in studying early childhood development or health care management through postsecondary institutions like Penn State’s University Park campus

In 1892, American inventor Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed an improved type of airgun called the "Conte Gun" which used a more accurate projectile and had a much greater range than any previous airguns.
Garfield, New Jersey is a small town located in Union County, New Jersey. The population was 9,687 at the 2010 census. It is the home of Garfield High School and the Garfield Masonic Lodge No. 7861. The first people to live in what is now Garfield were Native Americans who had been living there for centuries before European settlement began. In 1764, George Washington and his troops passed through the area on their way north to help stop British forces from invading America. General John Burgoyne's army was following close behind them, and as they passed through Garfield, they stopped to take a look at the village that had been constructed nearby by some of their soldiers. Afterward, Washington ordered two companies of his own militia to establish a military post at what is now known as Fort Lee on the border of Union and Monmouth Counties. The fort served as an outpost until 1776 when it was replaced by Fort George (later renamed Fort Lee) in order to better protect American interests in North America during the Revolutionary War. In 1814, when Union County was formed from part of Monmouth County, Garfield became part of that county too. In 1834 it consolidated with Bergen Township into one municipality under the name of "Garfield". At its incorporation date, September 25th 1870 – well over 100 years ago – Garfield boasted just 9 residents including 4 men employed at local mills which supplied goods and services to much of central NJ including Newark Liberty International Airport today! “...the town has always been staunchly Yankee Doodle Dandy [sic] with a love affair with gambling which helped keep things interesting in this small but vital community...The Mason Lodge #8701 has kept alive traditions like Jazz Marching Band Tuesdays evenings around 6:00pm followed by Personal Potluck Dinners starting at 5:00pm sharp every weeknight; Garfields also sponsors many local charities such as Stonington Area Kiwanis Club annual golf tournament Farm-to-Fairs annually raising money for causes like cancer research etc…” - Joel Sadowski
Garfield was born on October 16, 1892, in the town of Garfield, New Jersey. His parents were John and Belle Garfield. John Garfield worked as a carpenter and his wife did the same job as a seamstress. Garfield attended school for one year before he started working on his own farm in 1916. He married Mariella in 1922 and they had two children. In 1933, Garfield began work at General Electric Company and he remained there until his retirement in 1970. He was an avid reader and collector of books. He also played golf and enjoyed spending time with his family.
