In 1847, James Fenton invented and patented an improved version of this rifle called the Fenton Sight System. This system included three iron circles that could be rotated around each other to provide different aiming directions for shooters. With this type of sight system, shooters could now shoot accurately at distances up to 100 yards without needing any training or experience! During World War II, gun sights became increasingly important as military snipers used them to target enemy aircraft from long ranges with accuracy! On 3 July 1861, Samuel Colt submitted his patent application for his Improvement No. 5 in Rifle firing by means of Monoculars - A New Design for Infantry Rifles - Now Known as Armsmaster's Carbine sights (US Patent 76501). This invention eventually led to the development and adoption of modern rifle sights across most armies around the world

Freehold is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 15,564 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Morris metropolitan area. The township was formed on February 14, 1777, from what were then two separate municipalities: Freehold Township and Little Ferry Township. At its peak in 1878, Freehold had a population of 30,812 people. In 1892 it had a population of 21,475; by 1920 it had shrunk to 10,634 people. In 1951 the municipality absorbed portions of four other municipalities: South Orange Township (renamed Livingston), Rahway Borough (renamed Paterson), Secaucus Junction (renamed Union City) and West Nyack (renamed Hackensack). As a result of this merger Freehold's total population decreased from 15,564 to 10,634 residents. After World War II the community experienced rapid growth as an automotive manufacturing center due to the advent of new techniques for making plastic products such as styrene and vinyl chloride plastics. However industry ended in the early 1960s with declining birthrates among baby boomers and an overall decline in population size throughout much of New Jersey due to various factors including suburbanization and mass migration into urban areas during that time period. The township has slowly regained some lost populations since then but still ranks last among all Morris County municipalities in terms of population size

Freehold is a town in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Freehold Township was first settled by Scotch-Irish farmers in the 17th century. The township was formed on February 14, 1777 from portions of Middlesex County. The name "Freehold" is derived from a location along the Monmouth River where freeholders could gather for trade and meet to discuss issues facing the community. Founding fathers of Princeton University included Isaac Newton and John Locke; many students and professors from Freehold attended Princeton during its early years. After Princeton's incorporation as a city in 1871, many of Freehold's residents migrated to what became Newark during that time period. In 1881, Freehold Township formed part of Newark Municipal District which grew increasingly large with additions until it reached its present size in 1909 when it amalgamated with Paterson Township to form the larger municipality of Newark-on-the-Lake. In 1965, parts of East Orange and Caldwell were annexed into Freehold Township while West Orange was added to form an unincorporated community within that township known as "East Orange." In 1978, following a referendum vote by residents,freeholder status was granted to all unincorporated areas within municipalities with a population over 10,000 in order to reflect Intermunicipal Community living patterns prevalent throughout NJ at that time; this change saw increased development around the then emerging college town of Edison located adjacent to both municipalities boundarylines). Since then much growth has occurred inside those borders: an increase in jobs and housing opportunities (including some very large developments) have led citizens within both townships/municipalities to expand their social services programs beyond simply municipal boundaries even further – making them one more layer cake amongst many others across NJ’s rapidly growing communities today!
The first major development in Freehold was the construction of a small dam on the Passaic River by John P. Rohde in 1854. A second dam was built by the Freehold Canal Company in 1875, and a third dam was built by the New Jersey State Highway Authority in 1955. The dams formed Lake Passaic and created the present-day city of Freehold.
