Franklin Lakes is located on the border of Harleysville and Jenkintown. The first settler in Franklin Lakes was Nicholas White. In 1812, John Chambers bought a tract of land in what is now Franklin Lakes from Nicholas White for $5 per acre (equivalent to ). In 1876, President Ulysses S. Grant visited Franklin Lakes and pronounced it "the most beautiful place I have ever seen". He recommended that Congress create a park around the town to commemorate his visit and also rename it "Ulysses S. Grant Park" after him. White died in 1877 without having seen any progress towards creating such a park and he bequeathed his holdings to his heirs which eventually became the Town of Franklin Lakes with its own charter dated May 14, 1911. On July 1st 1860, Samuel Strickland founded the village of Jenkintown within present day Franklin Lakes with only 15 residents total; all but one were men working on developing Strickland's estate near present-day Route 22nd Street and Easton Avenue (now Market Street). The remaining residents either left or were forced out when they discovered high levels of arsenic in the groundwater they drank as well as severe health problems caused by living near an open-air mine rich with uranium ore. On January 3rd 1861, strickland sold all his property northward from where he stood along present day Route 22nd Street and eastward into what are today central Harleysville Township (and eastern Westfield Township) for $2/acre (.50 hectare). This deed formed what we nowcall Strickland Township north of Interstate 95 while original Jenkintown remained south of I-95 until 1959 when it too lost its charter status due to annexation by neighboring Westfield Township

As weapon technology evolved, so too didscope mounting systems; during this time, innovative designs appeared including Lee-Enfield bipods and Weaver roof prism reflex sights (these later became standard on American sniper rifles). By 1945, all major military forces had adopting some form of telescopic sighting system; however, specific applications such as artillery or air warfare required entirely different mounting systems not compatible with those used by other branches of service. Today, Scope Mounts continue their popularity due to their versatile nature and ease of use; they can be attached directly onto rifles utilizing a variety of methods including screws through stocks or receivers or via either Weaver roofs or monopods."

The community was founded by General George Washington in 1784 as part of a land grant to his brother, Thomas Jefferson. The name "Franklin" first appears on a map dated 1785. The town is home to a variety of businesses and cultural attractions, including two golf courses – one operated by Nationwide Insurance Company and another run by PNC Financial Services Group – as well as several museums and theaters. In addition to its core neighborhood - which includes several blocks of single-family homes - Franklin Lakes also contains two large industrial areas: One near the riverfront and another along Route 22 near Interstate 95. These areas have allowed for increased development around the edges of the town while preserving much of its natural environment. For more than 150 years, Franklin Lakes has been an important center for business in New Jersey; its economy has been based largely on agriculture and fishing alone. Today, however, there are many other industries that contribute to the local economy; these includemanufacturing (mostly automobiles), service sectors (such as accounting services), healthcare/patient care (mainly health insurance), education (primarily colleges and universities), real estate development (including both apartment complexes and million-dollar homes) and retail trade (which includes various types of grocery stores). Furthermore, because Franklin Lakes is such a small town - measuring just over 2 square miles - it has always had significant infrastructure needs such as drinking water systems, transportation systems and schools that have been met through partnerships between government entities such as Township Government & Education Department / School District 519 / Borough Government & Public Welfare Department etc.; these collaborations have helped make Franklin Lakes one of New Jersey's most livable communities overall!
In 1795, the area that is now Franklin Lakes was part of Jersey Township. The first white people to inhabit the area were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1664. In 1814, during the War of 1812, when New York was fighting Canada, the British military burned down a mill in what is now Franklin Lakes.
