Fort Lee is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 27,898 at the 2000 census. It is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area and was formed from portions of Bergen Township on April 1, 1912. Fort Lee is located on the border of Middlesex County and Union County. The fortifications at Fort Lee were built by the British in 1777 to protect their possessions in what is now southeastern New Jersey during the American Revolution. The first settlers to arrive in this area were Dutchmen who established a trading post near present-day Elizabethtown in 1664. In 1714, Captain John Smith erected a forts along both banks of the Passaic River as part of his attempt to control access to trade with Great Britain across the Hudson River. These forts became strategically important after they were manned by troops loyal to George Washington during the French and Indian War (1754-63). The British abandoned these forts after their victory over France in 1759. In 1802, an act was passed by Congress recognizing land grants along both banks of the Passaic River from President James Kahlil Woodson to encourage settlement within present-day Monmouthshire and Union Counties. This act also created Fort Lee as one of 25 townships within Monmouthshire that would be settled by Americans under Federal law. On October 9, 1811, General George Washington ordered all military forces northward from Trenton through Princeton without awaiting notification from Congress concerning any new settlements being established east or west of Trenton; this order signaled beginning America's process of colonization which would culminate in its admission into Confederation as a nation on July 4th, 1816. Fort Lee played an important role throughout America's Revolutionary War because it guarded British possessions south of Newark between Elizabethtown Heights on the east bank and Perth Amboy on the west bank ofthe Passaic River; these positions allowed American soldiers free passage across Long Branch Creek without hindrance from friendly local militia while troops garrisoned other posts throughout New Jersey participated in operations against British forceslambda Battlefields abutting Fort Lee are known as Lexington Heights (northwest corner), Sullivan’s Farmstead (southwest corner), Redoubt Hill (northeast corner), Morristown Heights (southwestern corner) and Battlefields West/Northeast abutting Fort Lee are known as Green Mountain Lakeshore (east side), White Plains Road Bridge (@ intersection with Yankee Turnpike) (@ junction with Old Mill Road), Arlington House (@ intersection with East Essex Avenue)

In bipedalism, the individual has two separate limbs that they use to move around. This allows people to be more efficient at moving and makes them easier to climb or descend stairs. The first bipedal creature was a four-limbed animal that lived about 375 million years ago. These animals had two pairs of limbs and used them as a pair of stepping stones for walking across rivers and lakes. They were able to do this because their body was divided into two parallelogram-shaped parts, which allowed them to move independently from each other. However, when dinosaurs came along and started evolving into the armored dinosaurs we know today, they began losing their arms and legs altogether. As a result, they became unable to use their paired limbs as stepping stones or transportation anymore and had to depend on relying on their Strength and Endurance instead. This change in behavior caused many plants and animals to evolve similar abilities so that they could still survive by reliance on Strength and Endurance alone instead of walking with two separate limbs like man does today! Thus, bipedalism was born!

The British military command decided to build a more permanent post in the area, and soon enough, Fort Lee became one of the most important British posts on the coast. The fort originally served as a storage and supply depot for troops fighting against American forces during the Revolutionary War. The fort also played an important role in coastal defense during later years. In 1814, after America acquired control of Florida, Fort Lee was transferred to United States control. It remained part of that country until it was sold to Jersey City businessmen in 1928. The fort has been restored and is now open to the public as part of Jersey City's history museum.
