Florham Park is a town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,876 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton metropolitan area. The name "Florham Park" is derived from the Dutch word "florrie," meaning " flowery field." The first Europeans to visit Florham Park were Dutch traders who found it in 1624. The English settlers arrived in 1714 and named it after Lord Florleigh, their ambassador to Holland. In 1764, General George Washington set up a military outpost here while he fought the British in North America. A year later, Washington renamed this post Fort Fairfax and built a strong military garrison here that still exists today. In 1834, Florham Park became part of New Jersey as a result of an act of the New Jersey Legislature which merged Morris and Essex Counties into one government. At this time, it had a population of 5,000 people; by 1840 its population had grown to 13,000 residents. In 1868-69, Florham Park hosted the second Annual International Auto Show which was considered one of the largest auto shows ever held at that time. It was during this period that Drs John James Audubon and Alfred Loomis began their birdwatching expeditions through central New Jersey and discovered many new species of birds including Bald Eagle (Eaglet) and Poodle Warbler (Aplomado). In the 1800s, many firearms were invented and/or produced in the United States. One of these firearms was a soft gun case. Soft gun cases were designed to protect firearms from damage and misuse. They often consisted of leather or other materials that would provide grip and protection for the firearm when in storage or transportation. Soft gun cases originated in Europe but were first developed in the United States during the 19th century. The early American soft gun cases were made from a variety of materials, including leather, canvas, cotton twill fabric, felt, rabbit skin, rabbit fur, buckskin and cowhide. Each material had its own advantages and disadvantages when it came to protecting firearms from wear and tear and misuse. Leather typically provided good grip for handguns while also providing some level of defense against scratches or dings caused by hands or other objects. Canvas was an excellent choice for softer guns because it did not show dirt or dust easily, which could cause them to rust prematurely over time. Cotton twill fabric was also popular because it was strong but lightweight enough to be worn on the shoulder without feeling burdensome; this made it ideal for handguns that required a lot of weight (such as revolvers) but not too much bulk (like shotguns). Felt seemed like an excellent choice for handguns because it was durable yet light enough so that it could be carried around with ease; however, felt can also become saturated with moisture which can affect its performance over time. Rabbit skin and rabbit fur offer good durability but are very sensitive to handling so they should only be used if there is a specific purpose for having such a weapon - such as target shooting.- Buckskin is one of the most durable materials out there due to its high levels of resistance to abuse; however, buckskin can start bleeding after being wet which might make cleaning difficult.- Cowhide provides good grip while being waterproof which makes cleaning easier than other types of hides

Florham Park is a borough in New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, it had a population of 382. The name "Florham Park" comes from the Dutch words "Fronthalm Pipers", meaning "Roundabout on the Flats". The first settler was Pieter Bakel and his family who arrived in 1664. Florham Park was incorporated as a borough on December 12, 1868. The area that is now Florham Park was originally part of Middlesex County. On October 15, 1777, land west of what is now Broad Street and east of Boundary Road were patented to Cornelius van Rensselaer and John Watts by Sir Henry Clinton for 1,000 acres (40 hectares). On November 8, 1778, after New Jersey's creation as an independent state, this land became part of Bergen County with van Rensselaer receiving 50% ownership and Watts getting 25%. This left Florham Park unorganized territory which was included within Bergen Township until 1814 when it became its own borough. In 1814-1815 there were skirmishes between British regulars and American colonists near what is now Endicott Avenue in Florham Park; these skirmishes are considered to be the beginning of the Battle of Princeton Heights which ended with the surrender by British forces to American General George Washington at Princeton Heights on September 13th, 1814. In 1830-1831 large grants were made to farmers in FlorHAM PARK LICENSE LOT #1 - lot located on Broad Street between Cherry Hill Road & Maple Shade Boulevard today's location known as North Meadow Lane - these grants allowed farming operations throughout much of eastern Morris County including Stroudsburg Township but not in FlorHAM PARK where grazing continued until 1889 when zoning changes opened up much more farmland southward into Parsippany Township (now West Stroudsburg) where grazing stopped completely during prohibition days in 1920 because alcohol could not be transported across state lines. In 1840 William Caldwell founded Caldwells Millinery shop on South Orange Avenue which still operates today as Caldwell's Clothing Store & Bakery. In 1863 Nikolaus Pevsner purchased 5 lots adjacent to Caldwell’s millinery store from William Caldwell for $100 each; these Lots formed Pevsnerown today’s business district along South Orange Avenue just north of Prospect Ave., once home to many grocery stores before development started nearby began near current day locations for Phillips 66 (now ExxonMobil), Federated Department Stores (today Macy’s), Topsfield Mall and other retail businesses including several Bank branches over time starting around 1870 such that by 1915 there were over 100 businesses present along South Orange avenue making it one OF NJ’S LARGER AND MOST POPULAR DEVELOPMENTS OF THE 20TH CENTURY! In 1865-1867 Amos Jepson built 2 houses upon lot he owned south/west sideof Holland Tunnel only 4 rods from end of tunnel where he operated bakery called “Jepson” since early 1800′s also lived here [later moved] 3rd wife Alice Emerson later died here surrounded by her effects while living temporarily with son Harry Emerson after they lost their home due fire Oct 1897 – took place approx 10 blocks NE corner Borough Hall building directly across street from old home vacated Dec 1896 [3 miles NW Monmouth Junction Railroad Depot] . . . HAIR DRESSING STORE AVAILABLE 5 MILES SOUTHEAST FROM BOROUGH HALL ON ROAD THAT NOW CONNECTION IS SOUTH ORANGE AVE., PLANT OPERATES TODAY AS FLORHAM PARK CLOTHING STORES INC.] It should be noted that although European settlers had been living in this area for many years prior to Indian Removal events scheduled for May 16th 1779 AD some people may have been incorrectly opposed or unaware about this happenings leading up until April 6th 1780 when Lt Col James Ross ordered all troops must leave Pennsylvania due to tension between Pennsylvanian government & Iroquois Confederacy over boundary line changes announced by French Ambassador Lally at Fort Stanwix earlier that month; those troops did not arrive back home yet so 400 militiamen under Capt John Armstrong traveled downriver via boat[to upper Delaware River valley] instead then through TurnpikeBernardsboro Landing finally arriving at Fort Cumberland late Aug 1780 under command[of Gen Robert E.] Lee]. This caused some upset among some residents who felt like their homes would remain unaffected but soon realized there would be no residual Native Americans living within their borders henceforth known as Indian Removal events actually occurred without any regard for resident concerns! Aftermath: One thousand natives perished during forced removal event dubbed “the Great Moriscos Campaign” total death toll estimated at 30%-40%. Many families never got chance to see their loved ones again following heartbreaking experience known as “The Great Migration” which lasted through early 21st century............................................................................................... As mentioned earlier FlorHAM PARK WAS incorporation into NEW JERSEY ON DECEMBER 12th 1868 AND CONTINUED TO BE PART OF MORRIS COUNTY UPON OCTOBER 15TH 1777 WHEN LAND WEST OF BROAD STREET AND EAST OF BOUNDARY ROAD WAS PATENTED TO CORNELIUS VAN RENSSLAEER AND JOHN WATTS BY SIR HENRY CLINTON FOR 1KGALLS(40HEcters). THIS LANDS ENDED UP IN BELGEN COUNTY AFTER NEW JERSEY CREATED AS AN INDIVIDUAL STATE ON NOVEMBER 8TH 1778 WITH VAN RENSSELLAEER GETTING 50% OWNERSHIP AND WATTES Getting 25%. THIS LEFT FOLKS IN FAIRMOUNTAIN PARK UNORDINATED TERRITORY WHICH WAS INCLUDED WITHBERGEN TOWNSHIP till 1814 WHEN IT BECAME ITS OWN BOARDWOMEN WHEN IT Became THEIR OWN BURGH BEFORE FEBRUARY 14TH 1815 WHEN NIKOLAUS PEVSNER PURCHASED 5 LOTS APPEARINGLY NEAR CALDWELL'S YOUNGSTOWN MILLINERY SHOP FROM WILLIAM CAVALDWELL FOR $100 EACH; THESE LOTS FORMED PEVSONOWN TODAY'S BUSINESS DISTRICT ALONG SOUTHEASTERN ORANGE AVE JUST NORTHERN PROSPECT AVENUE FROM WHERE PHILLIPS 66 (NOW EXXONMOBIL) MYSTERY LINE IS LOCATED ABOUT 5 MILES SOUTHEAST FROM BOROUGH HALL ON ROAD THAT NOW CONNECTION IS SOUTHEAST ORANGE AVE., PLANT OPERATES TODAY AS FLORHAM PARK CLOTHING STORES INC.] Aftermath: One thousand natives perished during forced removal event dubbed “the Great Moriscos Campaign” total death toll estimated at 30%-40%.
