Florham Park is a borough in New Jersey, United States. The population was 37,895 at the 2010 census. Florham Park is part of the Parsippany–Troy Hills, New Jersey Metropolitan Statistical Area. Florham Park was founded on August 16, 1777 by Captain John Pemberton and his group of soldiers as "Forts George Washington and Lee". In 1814, the town became part of Morris County and was renamed to Florham Park after Colonel James Florimont. On July 1, 1912, Florham Park merged with neighboring Hackensack to form the new municipality of Morris Township. The first African American resident in Florham Park was Jabez Hill who arrived in 1834 from Georgia. He worked as a cook for local white families and also helped organize a Colored Baptist Church in 1838. Hill's descendants still live in the borough today. During World War II, Florham Park served as an assembly point for workers manufacturing munitions for the US military. Afterward, many businesses closed down due to economic recession that hit New Jersey hard during that time period. However, some have since reopened such as Weis Markets which opened its first location inFlorHAMPark on May 3rd 2016 In recent years there has been significant development taking place within FlorHAMPark including: new housing developments such as The Regency Village complex (opened in 2018), newly renovated schools like Edison Career Academy (opened Fall 2017), and an expansion of Stroud-Goudreau Airport which will soon welcome passenger service with flights to Newark Liberty International Airport

Florham Park is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Union metropolitan area. The name Florham Park comes from Dutch settlers who called the area "Fronamarga". The first settler was Nicholas de Vos and his family who arrived in 1714. In 1777, Colonel John Armstrong moved his forces to this area and laid out a new town on land which he had purchased from the Indians. In 1801, Henry Dearborn founded Dearborn Heights which became Florham Park after him. The first post office was established in 1802 and served until 1861 when it was discontinued because of its distance from Newark. 2nd District Congressman Nathaniel Biddle ( Democratic Party) served here for 20 years; he is one of only 2 men to have held that seat 4 times consecutively (1853-1861). He later represented stateside Westchester County as well before retiring in 1881 to activities with Cornell University between 1881-1891 Congressional Record Archives -Volume XXVII., pages 7090-7109: On May 11th, 1886 Representative Nathaniel Biddle introduced H.J.'s resolution disapproving $5 million investment by Standard Oil Company in New York City's Central Railroad System – an investment that would impact not just Florham Park but also many other towns throughout New Jersey due to their transportation connections with what were then Giants! After much discussion the measure passed censure but found favor among House members later on when it became law! In 1801, Florham Park was developed by George Washington Baird as a hunting and fishing area. The first home on the site was built in 1800 by Colonel John Smith. A post office was established at Florham Park in 1802, and remained in operation until 1865. In 1809, Governor Nicholas Tracey purchased land at Florham Park from Reid & McNamara for $8000. The park's first game preserve was created in 1821, when Captain James Cook bought 20 acres of land north of the present day Boulevard Road to create a botanical garden. In 1916, General Leonard Wood served as the Commanding Officer of IX Corps during World War I and proposed that the United States Army establish a military airfield at Florham Park. After defeat during the war and low priority given to aviation within the military establishment, Wood revived his proposal in 1922. However, it would not be until 1939 that an airfield would be constructed at Florham Park after spending millions of dollars acquiring rights to land near where it is now located (the current airport). During World War II, Florham Park played host to many important events including Combat Training School #1 which operated from 1942-45; V-E Day ceremonies on May 9th 1945; and President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s funeral service on April 12th1945 which took place at Beechwood Cemetery before being moved to Hyde Park Cemetery two days later due to rain complaints from nearby residents who were forced to park their cars on public streets while services were conducted insidePolitically speaking,FlorHAM PARK has always been an interesting patchwork quilt made up of various townships along Route 22nd Street between Princeton University – one mile west – and New York City – just east of Interstate 95 - with some large commercial areas such as Jersey City annexed into these villages over time
