Florham Park is a small town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 11,539 at the 2010 census. Florham Park's name is derived from "Forrester" (a man who settled in the area in 1814), and the name refers to its location on Meetinghouse Road between Bloomfield and Parsippany Avenues. The first Europeans to visit Florham Park were Dutch traders, who established a trading post there in 1664. In 1715, General George Washington passed through Florham Park on his way to Bethlehem. In 1814, David Forrester founded the Forrester family farm here after emigrating from Ireland. As of the 2000 Census when this article was written, Florham Park had a population of 11,539 people living within its limits - 8% of New Jersey's total population. The township was organized on April 14th, 1868 from portions of Parsippany Township and Bloomfield Township. The first election for township trustees was held July 7th; Drury won with over 98% of the vote. At that time there were only 10 electors in Florham Park Borough; all but two are now part of neighboring Parsippany Boroughs: Elmira and Waynesboro Township have been annexed since then by Morris County redistricting plans reflect population growth within their boundaries while still adhering to certain township characteristics such as an elected board of trustees with staggered terms (the full list can be found at www.morriscountyvaildiggeringsite). In 1976-1977 voters approved adding 4 blocks west of Lake Avenue between Maplewood Avenue and Willow Road into the borough; this annexation formed what is now known as North Arlington Heights development phase II which borders Morris County proper just south along I-95/I-280 to Bloomingdale Avenue where it meets Hackensack River Drive (southwest boundary) forming part of Morristown neighborhood home rule referendum campaign promises made during zoning hearings throughout NJ including presentations by community activists Tom Diskin chairwoman Linda McMahon sitting across from me about how we’ll create jobs or increase taxes if we get prez office

Florham Park is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 26,864 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Florham Park were French traders who landed there in 1674. The name "Ferry" comes from this time period as well and means "to cross." In 1714, John Smith, an Englishman who had traveled throughMorris County, named the township after himself - he had been born in Florham Green, Middlesex County, England. In 1834, large land grants were given to a group of men led by Daniel Webster Sr., one of America's leading politicians and campaigners for democracy during the 1830s and 1840s. Among these was Webster's son-in-law John Kemeny. They laid out a townsite on what is now West Side Road (now Route 9) about two miles east of where Florham Park now stands – with its original home tavern (the White Horse), later becoming known as Jaffrey’s Tavern and then Avenue Inn; their farmhouse at present day Washington Avenue and Easton Street; another house on North Main Street near I-95; three Methodist churches: St Paul’s Episcopal Church on West Side Road (now Boulevard); First Baptist Church on South Main Street between Easton and Washington avenues; and Second Baptist Church on Grove or Elmwood Streets between Highways 95th parallel north and Trenton avenue – all still standing today. In 1835, voters approved a referendum to create a borough within Morris County based upon recommendations made by President James Kieft of Gotham Township in neighboring Hunterdon County following his recommendation that Morristown become an incorporated town due to its growing population density (which at that time exceeded those of both Jersey City NJ [then just under 10]and Princeton NJ [then almost 30]). In 1839 the new municipality was granted official status as Florham Park Borough by Governor Jeremiah Woodbury – soon followed by annexation into Hunterdon Township when it became an independent county in 1867. A post office called FlorHAM PARK opened in 1849 but closed operations in 1861 due to lack of mail service from Princeton ->Easton ->Jaffrey ->Princeton ->Newark services combined into one route which improved around 1865-1866 making it possible for residents to get mail beyond their own homes without having to leave their neighborhood FlorHAM PARK remained unincorporated until 1947 when it merged with Ridgefield Township along with Fair Lawn & Paramus Townships forming what is now called Moorestown Township
In 1777, the area now known as Florham Park was part of Middlesex County. In 1814, New Jersey became a state and Florham Park became an incorporated city. On July 1, 1916, Florham Park was hit by a bomb that exploded at the nearby Empire State Building. The bombing killed more than seventy-five people and injured more than two hundred.
