Florham Park is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,547 at the 2010 census. It was formed from part of Perth Amboy on April 11, 1838. The main thoroughfare in town is Route 1 which connects it to nearby Newark and Trenton. The town took its name from Flora Majoris a daughter of Colonel John Nicholson and his wife Bathsheba Major. The first settler in Florham Park was James Braidwood who built his home on what is now known as Main Street in 1839. He also leased land to the Goodyear Rubber Company for their manufacturing plant which operated from 1840-1845. A few years later, David Fenton purchased some land south of Main Street for farming purposes and named it Fentonown after himself and his two brothers-in-law Amos Slocum and Caleb Norton. In 1846, John Jourdan became the first postmaster of Florham Park with office located at 5 Broad Street. In 1850, he married Hannah Witherspoon and they moved into their own house across Broad Street from the postoffice until her death in 1865 when he moved into the new Union Pacific Railroad station building that still stands today (renamed "Bridgewater" following an expansion project). A new courthouse was opened by Judge James Haddon Pratt on July 2nd, 1876 inside of what is now known as Borough Hall Plaza (later renamed "Plymouth Meeting House"). It served as the county seat for Sussex County until 1895 when Morristown became county seat due to its larger population. On May 6th 1907, Florham Park incorporated as a borough with a population of 10,000 people under Mayor Solomon Saperstein; however this incorporation was short lived due to lack of support from residents who preferred Borough status quo unchanged since before World War I On December 8th 1915 Mrs Gertrude Rosenwald donated $10K toward construction of an extension westward on Broad Street called Avenue C which would become affluent Jewelers Row; however this proposal met with opposition including many local farmers who felt they were being taken advantage of by developers because there wasn't enough competition given Newark's rapidly expanding city scene at that time Finally on January 25th 1932 voters passed a referendum permitting annexation by Newark which happened five days later without any violence or protest

Finally, there are animals who have been shown to walk on four legs- including elephants and lions! It seems that bipedality might actually be an old reality after all...

Florham Park was founded in 1777 by General George Washington as a strategic location for military stores and post office. The town rapidly grew into a center of learning, commerce, and culture in the 19th century. The influx of large numbers of New Yorkers after the American Revolution led to an increase in population and development in Florham Park. In 1834, Florham Park became the first incorporated town in New Jersey. It remained an agricultural community until around 1950 when it became a bedroom community for easternNew York City. Today, Florham Park is home to many familiar names including Ford Motor Company, Bank of America, HBO's "Veep", and the Newark Devils hockey team.
