Fairview is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the borough had a population of 21,912 and was the most populous municipality in Bergen County. Fairview was incorporated as a borough on March 3, 1892. The name Fairview is derived from two large tracts of land that were donated to the Borough by John J. Lynch and others in 1865 and 1868 respectively. The first settlers to arrive in what would become FairVIEW were indeed Dutch immigrants who came overland from Holland around 1664-66. Over time however, other European groups also arrived including Italianate families from Monmouthshire (now Middlesex County) in 1701-02; Germans (specifically Hessians) who arrived between 1764 and 1795; Irish Catholics from Belfast along with their families in 1800; as well as Jews who landed at Hackensack Bay in 1870. As early as 1814 there were reports of "a very flourishing agricultural community" located near what would become FairVIEW due to increased shipments of Indian corn coming down the Passaic River via the Hackensack Canal which at that time linked Albany, New York with Newark Liberty through Jersey City. By 1835 Agricultural Supplies had grown so much that farmers began looking for additional land where they could grow crops such as potatoes and corn while still having access to water transportation available nearby – this led them eventually to purchase 1,000 acres (400 ha) along Canaroy Creek north of today's intersection of I-280/I-287, just south of I-695/I-476 - what became known as "the Lynch tract". Thereafter many years more education and advancements took place before businesses started popping up throughout downtown FairVIEW such as: banks (First National Bank & Trust Company established 1889), physicians (Drury brothers established 1892), schools (John Fenton Grammar School erected 1895), churches & missions (Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints congregation organized 1886). The original downtown district now includes portions of Downtown Newark including Ferry Terminal Park across from PATH Station with its own light rail stop serving both local buses within walking distance while also providing an overflow area should any major events or demonstrations occur outside of the central business district - something which has repeatedly proved itself invaluable during times such as Superstorm Sandy when multiple blocks away large areas remained inaccessible due to downed power lines etc.. It should be noted that much like other municipalities throughout NJ beginning with Edison Township back home in the 1700s various cornerstones were laid out prior to becoming anything resembling "downtown": horse racing track opened adjacent to town center circa 1830; grist mills closer to riverside neighborhoods grew into breweries by 1840; market square developed northeast corner near post office circa 1850 renamed geographic avenue after General James Forbes - finally arrived commercial districts centered around universities or larger corporate campuses later on... Today we can see glimpsesakes thereof all over town throughout various courthouses etc.: courthouse annexe built 1921 on former Rutgers football field just east side OF Main Street extending inland about 2/3rds mile (& park named for it); rue de la Paix opposite High Bridge replacing old street name occupied by lock box factory buildings until 1984 when they moved inside & new moniker bestowed upon it following designation of boulevard à la carte following renovation project begun 2006 It goes without saying that these particulars are but a small sampling indicative not onlyof past but present vibrancy& growth associated WITH THE CITY OF FAIRVIEW!

Fairview is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 21,811. Fairview was formed on April 14, 1874 from part of Rahway Township. The name "Fairoaks" (from Greek: Ἀβραοκαίks) means "wilderness". The first settler in what would become Fairview was Abram Fenton who came to the area in 1824 and built a cabin on the Hackensack River. In 1827, John Ayscough arrived and started a farm three miles east of FairVIEW on Route #1A. This initial location served as a stopover for travelers traveling between Rahway and Englewood Cliffs. By 1830, all three men had died and their land was passed down to their children until it was sold off in 1865 to George Hildebrandt. In 1874,Fairview became part of Bergen County when it was created from parts of Rahway Township. At that time there were only 10 people living in FairVIEW and most of its growth came from neighboring municipalities such as West Nyack and Englewood Cliffs which began moving into FairVIEWs annexation territory at an alarming rate during this time period. One reason why Englewood Cliffs moved so quickly may have been because they were concerned about potential competition from Rahway Township which had been growing slowly for many years beforeFairview's annexation occurred. From its early days as a small town founded by farmers near the Hackensack River, FairVIEW has experienced some major changes over time including: increasing industrial production during World War II; dramatic demographic growth following Hurricane Donna in 1992;and explosive development after September 11th with the recent opening of Pascagoula Sky Harbor Airport just blocks away from downtown FairVIEW!
The Fairview area was once part of the Township of West Deptford. The first settler in what is now Fairview was Nicholas Lombardi, who came to land in 1756. John Cook and his family moved into the tract of land that would later become Fairview in 1814. On July 5, 1824, a group of Scotch-Irish immigrants from County Cork arrived at Bound Brook Station on the Morris Canal and founded what would become the village of Fairview. In 1827,FairVIEW was officially chartered as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. It became an independent city on January 1, 1911.
