Fairview is a small town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,824 as of the 2010 Census. It is part of the Philadelphia–Camden–Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Fairview were Dutch farmers who arrived around 1680. They named their land "Willemstown," after one of their own number, Willem van der Merwe. In 1715, two brothers from Holland named John and Nicholas Swenzer settled in what is nowFairview Township and engaged in agriculture until they sold out to the British Crown for $2,000 (£1,500). In 1812, another family from Holland bought 640 acres (250 hectares) northeast of present-day Fairview Township and laid out a township called Mercer with its own government and school system. This new township had two villages: Westville and Eastville. A year later it became part of Camden County when Morrisania was split between Camden and Middlesex counties. When Camden County was formed on March 15th 1837 by act of the New Jersey Legislature it included all but 4 townships within Mercer County: Burlington (formed February 21st 1836), Atlantic City (formed December 11th 1837), Cherry Hill (December 12th 1837), Easton (March 3rd 1840), Princeton (March 10th 1840). As a result of this change in county boundaries most residents in older townships moved to newer ones while many residents located within Mercer enlarged into those townships including Fairview which formed on April 1st 1800 when Morrisania separated from Camden County becoming an independent municipality under the name “Mercer” only to be absorbed back into Camden upon its merger with New Brunswick on January 1st 1889 as part of that state’s efforts to build a larger Newark metropolitan area that would include both Trenton and Paterson . In 1905 there were 663 people living in 202 houses scattered among 8 hamlets along South Pond Road near where Interstate 95 crosses over the creek providing water for farming purposes; these dwellings were built without regard to style or materials such as gables or dormers; these homes are considered classic Bungalows & Federal Style

Fairview is a borough in the U.S. state of New Jersey and part of the Township of Camden. As of the 2010 census, Fairview had a population of 14,827. It was founded on October 16, 1784, by Reverend John Dickinson and his wife Deborah Barlow Dickinson as part of Burlington County. The name Fairview is derived from a clearing in which they built their mansion-the first in what would become FairVIEW Township. The Dickinson family spent time at Fort Mercer during the Revolutionary War and moved to Fairview afterword. The Dickinsons were among the earliest settlers in Camden County and became well-known for their philanthropy there – helping establish many civic organizations including Camden Sunday School (later known as First Presbyterian Harrisburg), Camden Fire Brigade, and Camden Library Company. They also donated land to make way for Park Row Cemetery, now home to both Rutgers University's College Avenue campus and Point Breeze Shopping Center). The township was formed on October 16th, 1784 when Reverend John Dickinson laid out parts of what are now southeastern Camden County with help from friends Philip Stockton (a future member of Congress) and George Washington Irving (himself an early settler). The initial boundary lines were supposed to be drawn alongriverfront but changed because some landowner objected to being included within limits he’d already agreed to give up when he ceded his lands eastward to Philadelphia. Eventually boundaries were set again around present day Old Bridge Road/Route 9A (then called Spring Garden Road), Spring Garden Lane/Route 2B (now called South Street), Easton Avenue/Route 1A (now called Willowbrook Avenue), Northbridge Avenue/New Brunswick Turnpike heading northeast towards Princeton Junction before turning southeast towards Northumberland; these borders remain largely unchanged today except for minor adjustments at intersections where roads have been widened or rerouted etc.. The township reached its peak population size in 1824 with 9,000 residents; however this number has declined steadily ever since due mostly to commuting reasons instead of migration patterns changing over time – FairVIEW's current population stands at 7,711 as of the 2010 Census According to the 2000 United States Census there are 13 housing units per 10,000 people living here according to HUDstats website Median household income range from $75K-$141K depending on zip code In 2009 FairVIEW had 8% unemployment rate
