In 1912, another man named John Browning patented an airgun that fired large metal pellets at a high speed. This gun was called the "Browning". Fairview is a borough located in the New Jersey Highlands region of southern New York County. As of the 2010 United States Census, Fairview's population was 14,824. The borough was formed from portions of Bound Brook Township and Newton Township on February 17, 1966, as a result of the merger of these two municipalities. The name "Fairview" has been derived from the Indian word for "forest." The first settler in what is now Fairview was Nicholas De Courcey who arrived in 1676. He named his new land after Sir George Fairchild, an English gentleman who had purchased some tracts of land near Newark. In 1847, John Prentice built the first gristmill in what is now FairVIEW and began to produce flour for local markets. In 1865, Jno Prentice & Son erected a large frame house at 116-118 Main Street which served as their millinery shop until it burned down in 1892. It is believed that this fire may have been started by one of their employees when he realized that his store did not yet have insurance coverage. In 1886, Isaac Nichols established Nichols Drugs at 12 Broad Street which became one of the largest drug stores in northern New Jersey with over 100 employees and annual sales topping $1 million. In 1922-1923 (the year prior to its merger with Bound Brook), FairVIEW received City Services Award honors for being one of the best performing municipal governments in New Jersey due to its levelheaded management and effective street cleaning program. In 1961-1963 (the year following its merger with Newton Township), FairVIEW underwent an extensive operation to improve public facilities including replacement/modification/replacement of all streetlights; installation/replacement/modification of all water mains; general resurfacing including resurfacing Streetscape; addition/ alteration/remodelingof 3 Branches Library; installation new roofing on 1 Courthouse - it was then ranked 7th out 10 Municipal Council Chambers across NJ during those years by NJ Advance Media pollsters! On October 5th 1984 an event occurred which would forever change how people view township government: The merging process between Bound Brook Township and Newton Township resulted inFairVIEW being created as a Borough withinboundbrooktonnewtontownship governmental structure without any vote or consent by either municipality's residents! From that point forward residents were automatically incorporated into each other's municipalities whether they wanted to be or not! Today there are over 14K residents living within boundaries defined by Overpass Road Extension (northwest side) – making up almost 60%of total population while only 30% resides within borough limits

This allowed municipalities to arm their police forces with weapons that could shoot projectiles up to 100 feet (30 meters) away without any need for reloading
Fairview was a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It is now a borough in Camden County. The population was 37,890 at the 2010 census. The first settler in what is now Fairview was John Woodrow who arrived from England in 1764. He built a small cabin on the north side of Long Pond and named it Fairview. In 1814, Abraham Lincoln visited the area and stopped at FairVIEW Manor on his way to give a speech at Ford's Theatre in Manhattan. The first school in FairVIEW Township was established on October 12, 1824 by Rev. Wm. Pemberton with 10 students from Morristown and eight boys from Trenton attend as teachers; the school closed after three years due to lack of funds. A new school building was erected on the same site in 1829-30 by Mr. & Mrs Bulkley for $6,000 which they paid with their own money that they had saved up since moving to Morris County two years earlier. This building still stands today and is used as part of Camden Avenue Technical High School District No 8 (across from Fairy Tale). A new high school building (now called Borough Hall) was constructed near where Main Street meets Cherry Hill Avenue between 1935 and 1938 by architects Raymond Hood and Sons Incorporated for $10 million dollars including land donated by Robert Moses which became Borough Park/ Middle East Side neighborhood (now known as North Camden). At that time there were only 10 students attending the high school; however, because of its size it quickly became overcrowded and soon opened its doors to 16th street Elementary School adjacent to it which also served grades 1-8 until 1961 when that facility closed due to budget cuts and teacher layoffs following nearby public schools' opening days across townlands reopening under brand new auspices with more expensive infrastructure being available made possible through major donations from civic leaders including Mayor James Egan Sr., Jr.; he then naming the complex South Camden High School after himself – an event commemorated annually on October 15th via Law enforcement officer escorts led by Deputy Sheriff William Jankowski during ceremonies at South Camden Township hall.) Unfortunately this large generosity eventually evaporated leaving many struggling townsites throughout Northern NJ without much–if any–added value or distinction other than name recognition doldrums brought about primarily because not much happened within those communities’ borders other than increasing prices for essential items such as gasoline, food stamps etc...It should be noted here that while some nice things did happen like Stroudsburg hosting both Super Bowls XXXI & XXXIV backtoback[in 2003] thanks largely theretofore to events taking place within our boundaries – most notably Asbury Park’s successful bid for “America’s Next Top Model” – these types of outcomes generally do not generate long-term economic prosperity or job growth but rather simply rely instead upon influxes of fresh blood driven principally by external events/incentives versus community engagement i.e.: becoming involved politically/ socio-economically through organizations such as social clubs/ organizations catering directlyTo residents wherein residents have direct control over their destiny); however notwithstanding all good intentions Good Neighborliness usually cannot outlast bad neighborliness so ultimately we all end up losers...In short: despite valiant efforts several times over many years numerous Norwegians have come together TO help solve OUR problems BUT unfortunately too often these efforts are either undone or completely forgotten moments later when things rapidly go back into decline again)...In 1865 Reverend Drayton founded Mount Carmel Academy located adjacent To THE PARKING LOT OF FAIRVIEW HALL [sic] where today's Mount Laurel Elementary School sits! Reverend Drayton even built an additional wing onto this original structure ALSO FOR SCHOOLS ORGANIZATIONS! A trueiconic figure our pastor who helped shape development trends throughoutMorrisCounty well into our 21st century!" During World War II various companies set up production plants along Long Pond Road creating what would come to be known as "the producers" subsection of Morris County Manufacturing village type cluster - businesses included Weyerhaeuser Company (later Kraft Foods), Bethlehem Steel Corporation,[3] General Electric Company,[4][5], Chrysler Corporation,[6], Westinghouse Electric Company[7],[8], Bethlehem Photographic Workshops Ltd.[9],[10][11],[12]. Many influential people living or working closeby during wartime included Jock Mahoney[13], Edward Rutherfurd[14], George Templeton Roosevelt[15], Harry Truman[16],[17],[18],[19]; local politicians Dick Thornburgh [& Charles Wagner|20]and Art Rendell contributed significantly too.[21][22][23]. Afterwar Idlewild Village came INTOexistence comprising mainly households formerly belonging TO MORRIS COUNTY MANUFACTURING VILLAGE TYPE CLUSTERS WW2 era!! How ironic!!! In 1764, a group of farmers in Fairview Township formed the Fairview Inn as a tavern. It was first known as the Tavern at Easton. In 1812, the inn became known as the White Horse Tavern and continued to be operated by the same family until it was destroyed by fire in 1847. The building was replaced with a larger one, but this too burned down in 1868. The current structure, which is built on an old millrace, became operational in 1896 and has been used for various purposes such as wedding receptions and events ever since.
