Gun magazines have been around since the 17th century. They are often called "firearms magazines" because they were used to store firearms, and not just ammunition. The first magazine was published in 1615 by John Locke in London. Magazines were typically printed on small sheets of paper which could be folded up and stored with other weapons or equipment. Firearms enthusiasts call these "gun books." The publication of the first gunpowder-powered rifle in 1578 gave rise to a new kind of magazine, the musket magazine. These became increasingly important as artillery began using cannon to bombard towns and cities from a distance. As cannons became more powerful, it became necessary for soldiers to keep an large number of these magazines close at hand for reloading. This led to the development of the shotgun, which required only one round per magazine instead of multiple rounds per weapon as with early rifles. In 1836, Springfield Armory issued its first revolver - an American Model 642 - chambered for .38 Special cartridges. This made pistols possible that could be carried without being loaded down with rounds, making them more effective against infantry than earlier handguns such as gunslingers' pistols and revolversights (which had relied upon eye alignment). Soon after this release, pistols began appearing mounted on Cavalry carbines and Light Artillery pieces such as howitzers and siege engines[1]. By 1845, shotguns had become widely available throughout North America[2], Europe,[3][4] Australasia,[5] South Asia,[6][7] New Zealand[8][9], India[10] and Australia[11]. In 1892 Samuel Colt produced his famous revolver [12]: this handgun fired a single ball cartridge which weighed about 1/2 pound (0.14 kg) but was able to penetrate many square inches (20 mm) of armour without fail due to its muzzle velocity over 350 meters/sec (1 000 m/s).

Fair Lawn is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Town of Fair Lawn was incorporated on April 14, 1795, from portions of Princeton Township and Rahway Township. On November 3, 1824, it became a village due to the incorporation of nearby West Orange as well. In 1827, Fair Lawn was renamed for General James Kempton fairgrounds near Philadelphia where he had been visiting with his family when he commissioned the first American flag in 1776. On July 15, 1924 – just one day after Trenton Mayor John Bendix led a march through Fair Lawn to protest racial discrimination by Newark police – a meeting of the township's trustees were held at the home of Trustee Isaac Somers to consider ways to improve relations between Trenton and Fair Lawn. That evening 10% of Trenton residents voted in an election that placed Superintendent Jno Sizemore (the son-in-law of Newark mayor Woodrow Wilson) over Somers as trustee for Fair Lawn despite his objections about continuing discriminatory practices by "Olde English" whites against African Americans living there. The vote followed several similar meetings throughout summer and fall that were called by township leaders concerned about possible violence or disorder following efforts by Governor William Tilden to hire replacement officers for the Park Department effective October 1st because its director had resigned after being accused of sexual harassment by two black parishioners; these charges did not lead to criminal indictment but rather administrative Hearings which resulted in no disciplinary action against him or any other individual involved in their management until 1863 when Superintendent Silas Seymour instituted quotas for blacks while white men continued to hold most key positions within the department). A series of meetings culminated on December 2nd with President James Buchanan delivering remarks at Old Saybrook Baptist Church endorsing what he called "a discriminate[d] plan" put forth by then Township Trustee Samuel Morse which would have given preference (at least initially) to white applicants for all jobs in township government including service positions such as police lieutenant and inspector general; this proposal gained wide public support including from many who felt they had been wronged since 1827 when their community's name reflected its original European origins rather than its current African American majority status In response thereto ordered Officer Edwin Harmon Smith ( age 25 )togartown where he shot & killed three people who opened fire upon him - an act that has still be considered one of America's most heinous terrorist attacks This event has also inspired various protests and stands throughout America every year ever since

Fair Lawn is a borough in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 24,591 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The name Fair Lawn comes from the Dutch word "veer" meaning field and "laan" meaning lane or path. The first European settlers in what is now Fair Lawn were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1664. By 1812, however, English settlers had taken up land around what is today Fair Lawn and built homes on high ground overlooking the town's waterways. In 1814, when Burlington County was formed from portions of Middlesex and Essex counties, Fair Lawn became one of its six townships. In 1828, a school for white children was erected on Broadway near where Ivy Lane joins Garden Road today. That same year also saw the opening of a post office in what is now known as Fair Lawn (although it functioned as an agricultural stop). Over time, mail order services flourished here; some residents still send packages by airmail today! In 1878-79, during Reconstruction following the American Civil War, many African Americans worked as laborers in local mines and factories before becoming citizens ofFair Lawn through various lawsuits brought against those employers by groups like Legal Aid Society (LAS). Eventually these suits led to laws being passed that banned racial discrimination throughout America's municipalities – starting withFair Lawn! In 1932 merger WITH neighboring Easton resulted in creation of a new municipality – Easton Township – which included much of what are now Fair Lawn Boroughs including most notably Lincoln Heights and Cedar Hill neighborhoods along with parts of Sayreville and Hackensack Townships outside South Burlington Township boundaries. Today there are over 26K residents living within municipal borders making it one of NJ's largest cities!Stories about early days include: In 1870-71 James Cohan started selling ice cream from his home on Maple Avenue just east off Route 8th Street until he moved to 5806 Maple Ave & shuttered shop due to health concerns; market caught on & business thrived (& so did prices) thanks to customers coming all over country
The town of Fair Lawn was founded in 1764 by the Dutch. The first white settler, Cornelius Van Impe, arrived in 1765 and built a house on what is now the corner of Washington and Livingston Streets. The town was named for Colonel James Fair, who had died in the Battle of Saratoga. In 1802, settlers started to arrive from upstate New York, and Fair Lawn became known as the "Gateway to New Jersey."
