The development of laser sights began in Englewood, New Jersey in the late 1970s. In 1978, engineer and inventor Rodney Elmer developed what is now known as the Elmer Laser Sight system. This system consisted of a drum-shaped device that could be attached to a gun barrel and allowed shooters to aim their guns using red and green light signals that were sent back and forth between the sight device and the gun barrel. This system was quickly adopted by law enforcement personnel as it allowed them to increasingly target their prey at long ranges without having to rely on traditional sighting methods such as eye level or cross hairs. It also became popular among recreational shooters because it made firing pistols much more comfortable than using traditional aiming devices such as telescopes or riflesights. However, due to its simplicity and ease of use, laser sights slowly lost favor over time among professional firearm owners and shooters alike. However, they remain an important part of manygunners arsenals today thanks to their ability to allow for accurate shooting at long distances without havingto depend on traditional sight methods

Englewood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 23,746 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The area that today makes up Englewood was first settled by Dutch and English colonists in 1664 as Hempstead Township. On May 8, 1814, it became a separate municipality, named after Major General George Washington's plantation on Long Island (now Englewood). The name "Englewood" originated from the fact that many of the early settlers were German immigrants who had come to plant corn and other crops near what is now Englewood Cemetery. In 1868, when Union troops burned down Oneonta to free men being held there for war crimes trials, parts of Long Island came under military occupation and were given their own municipalities - most notably Englewood. In 1870, during Reconstruction following the American Civil War, Englewood became one of 25 municipalities in Bergen County that were created as result of the new state government's Compromise PlanSweeping all vestiges of white supremacy out of existence across northern New Jersey and creating Black towns throughout southern Bergen County- including one called Florham Park- which would have significant political implications both then and now. As Engle wood grew increasingly suburbanized in character over time its services shrunk while its taxes went up; this caused much resentment among residents who felt they had been taken advantage of by their wealthier neighbors. In 1984–85 a referendum resulted in passage of a city charter that granted full municipal independence from its larger neighbor; however this did not improve relations between the two communities until after 9/11 when some residents voiced anger about perceived government encouragement for terrorism against enemy combatants living within their borders (see also: "Tensions escalate after 9/11"). Despite having an independent city charter and budgeting authority,Engelwood has always been something more akin to a village than an incorporated municipality with strong ties to both its larger neighbor and the large city it surrounds—something few people outside thereof take seriously. Today Englewood is home to over 30% Hispanic descent making it one of America's fastest growing Latino enclaves – mirroring Hispanics as a whole which are rapidly becoming more visible throughout Greater New York City thanks in large part to waves of immigration since 2000s wave driven by economic opportunities available hereabouts compared to places like Mexico City or Salvador Dali’s hometowns Guanajuato or La Habana. Englewood is a borough in the New Jersey metropolitan area, located in Bergen County. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 54,424. Englewood was formed as a borough from portions of Hackensack and Caldwell on March 12, 1906. On May 15, 1916, Englewood became a city after being granted its charter by New Jersey Governor Samuel J. Tilden. The population grew rapidly during World War I due to the large influx of GIs and their families; however, growth slowed after the war ended and development did not pick up until the early 21st century. Prior to its incorporation as a city, Englewood was known as an agricultural village with few skyscrapers or other high-rise buildings because of lack of space and infrastructure at that time. The name "Englewood" comes from two Dutch words meaning "place where wild fowl are found." In 1666–67 Johann de Beeck set out from Holland on his explore into North America via what is now Newark Bay to find a new land for New Netherland; he called this new land Engelwood (later anglicized to Englewood). He reached present day Hackensack on November 10th 1666 and established himself there before proceeding northeast through what is now Teaneck alongshore waters towards Paramus Creek which flowed into Newark Bay. From December 1st 1667-February 8th 1668 deBeeck passed through what is now Englewood on his way back from this journey northward (the first Europeans to visit present-day NJ since Christopher Columbus). So it may be that when Johannes De Beeck traveled through present day Englewoods boundaries in 1666-1668 he likely encountered people who had already moved here from elsewhere in Northern New Jersey during earlier waves of European immigration. In 1700 John Small founded Small's Ferryboat Company which traded between Elizabethtown Township and points south including Paterson Harbour on Long Island Sound - making him one of the earliest businesses operating within modern day EngleWOOD borders today!small@gmail.com small@xtrawebmail.com According to another source: “Small’s Ferry Boat company began operations approximately year 1701 when John Small built his ferryboats at Perth Amboy Bridge…. Englewood was founded in 1834 by John Engle and his wife, the former Elizabeth Jewett. The town originally consisted of only a few dozen settlers and was located near what is now Englewood Township. After years of growth, Englewood incorporated as a municipality in 1868. In 1926, the township was dissolved and absorbed into Englewood.
