This building was originally built in 1898 and it served as a mental hospital until it was demolished in 1969. As you drive up Park Avenue towards the building, you will see two large wooden posts next to each other that are known as “The Guns” because they once served as Gunsight Towers from where people could aim their guns while walking down Park Ave.). These towers were used for target practice back during the 1800s before they were converted into gun Sight Towers by Mayor John Loughlin around 1910). Finally, another old gun sight location that can still be seen today is located at 204 S Broad Street whichOriginally built c1890 this structure serves as both a grocery store and also has been used for many different purposes including government meetings from time to time). As you approach 204 S Broad street from Market St., you will notice an old post under a tree near the side of the road called “The Pistol Post” (formerly known as The Rifle Tower). This post was erected around 1830 by Colonel James Fenton who represented New Jersey at the Paris Exposition (the world’s fair held between France and England). Colonel Fenton wanted his riflemen to have easy access to targets so he erected this tower nearby so they could shoot accurately without having too much trouble holding their fire!

In 1825, John Dallaire sold 5 acres (20,000 m²) of land known as "Dalhousie Square" in what is now Park Slope to James Payson for $1. A second Englewood settlement was founded near present-day East Elmhurst on March 6, 1826 by George Waring with 11 others as trustees for the purchase of 1/4 mile (0.8 km) square from Nicholas Douglass for $5 per acre ($160). On July 25, 1830 John Sneyd purchased 2 1/2 acres (8 ha) in what are now Englewood from Abram Hewitt for $10 per acre ($320). When slavery was abolished in New Jersey in 1863, these two settlements were merged into one under the name "Englewood." In 1874, Andrew McGowan donated his land grant called "Lawn House" which had been confiscated from a Quaker family during the American Revolution. The gift became an important factor behind the rapid growth of Englewoods early evening cultural life and nightlife industry which continued until about 1990 when Prohibition caused many legal clubs to close down or change their names to avoid being identified with organized crime activity. In spite of this decline some aspects of Engleswoods culture have survived such as its annual summer bonfire lighting ceremony at Lawn House which has been held every year since 1984; its amateur golf tournaments; monthly arts & crafts show held at its high school gymnasium; and its weekly Farmers' Markets where produce is priced between $3 and $6
