During this time period much development took place withinUniontown including: construction of Lockport Railroad Station(now known as Northvale Mall), commercial redevelopment along Elmira Road eastward into Paramus Creek Valley with several businesses opening up including J C Penney & Sons grocery store(now known as Walmart),First National Bank branch(later absorbed into JPMorgan Chase bank)and two churches - First Lutheran Church(built 1865)and Christ Episcopal Cathedral(1912). It should be noted that while Uniontown was initially primarily agricultural based - with some manufacturing taking place later during this time period - subsequent annexation by municipalities led to significant increases in housing developments such as Walnut Ridge Estates Racetrack complex built beginning about 1960 which has since been demolished for development In 1949-50 following township mergers with neighboring Hudson Heights Township - then part of Paterson Municipal Borough - and Elizabethville Municipal Borough - all three townships were combined into one entity becoming known as "Mercer County" . This change reflected countywide trends towards suburban growth at the time although some rural communities continued to exist until after county consolidation .
