The first targets were fired from a field near downtown Dover. In 1875, the club moved to what is now known as Second Street and organized itself into two rifle teams. In 1886, the Dover Rifle and Pistol Club changed its name to the Delaware Valley Rifle Association (DVRA). That year, they set up shop on Market Street in town. The DVRA became one of the most successful pistol clubs in New Jersey and continue to meet monthly until today. They have also donated their equipment for museum display purposes at various locations throughout Delaware County. In 1932, gun owners of Dover decided that it was time for a new range facility - this time designed specifically for handguns. christopher cooper built an outdoor range on his farm which opened in 1934 and continued to be used by gun owners until 1976 when it was closed due to damage caused by rainstorms during Hurricane Agnes! In 1978, state legislation created a program to allow all municipalities within Delaware County – except those located outside of any county line – to establish their own ranges! Dover, New Jersey is a borough located in Kent County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 Census, Dover had a population of 32,594. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Dover Township on October 14, 1795 by the ship "Hercules". The township was formed on March 3, 1838 from portions of Cumberland Township. The community of Dover was founded in 1868 and became an incorporated town on April 15, 1888. On November 10, 2009, Dover Borough voters approved the establishment of a city charter with a population of 80,000 or more. The history of Dover begins with its location at the mouth of the Delaware River. In 1681 English forces under Robert Treat Pym captured Fort Christina and burned it to the ground; this event is considered to be the beginning of Delaware Bay as we know it today. Indian raids continued until after Confederation in 1776 when British troops were withdrawn from that region following American independence. Dutch traders began arriving in North America during this time and early attempts were made to establish settlements along both sides of the Delaware River. One such effort was led by Johannes de Vries who built Deventer Manor near present-day Newark Continental Stadium on December 7, 1686; however, settlement failed due to competition from French fur traders operating out of Canada and Acadia (present-day Maine). In 1702 John III Sobieski took possessionof Westmoreland County from Lord Carteret for his service during King George II's wars with France; Westmoreland County became part of New Jersey following his death in 1712. It should be noted that there are various sources which claim that John III did not actually inherit Westmoreland County - instead he received it as part of a dowry from Queen Anne after she married him in 1701 despite being without land himself. An attempt was made by Johann Heinrich Zündel to settle Germans eastward into what is now Pennsylvania prior to their expulsion by General James Wolfe during Quebec’s Patriots’ War (1759-60). However, this venture failed because they were unable to find enough waterlogged land within reach for their cattlemen and farmers alike. A new effort was made during King George II's reign known as "The Great Migration" which aimed to move people away from poverty stricken Ireland through transportation improvements includingcanals and ocean crossings; some 1 million people crossed over between Great Britain and America between 1700 and 1800 alone! This migration allowed for large areas such as Lancaster County (now southern Philadelphia) and Hudson Valley (northwestern Yorktown)to become prosperous while also creating numerous Native American populations whom many immigrants purchased into slavery or used as labor force throughout much OFA until 1865 when all free states finally recognized fugitive slaves' status! Accordingly most if not all Dutch families who settled in PA & NJ prior to 1700 ended up living among either Pennsylvanians or Indians/Miscreants thereafter...
