Cliffside Park is a small town in the borough of Camden, New Jersey. It is located on the border of Camden and Atlantic City. The name Cliffside Park comes from two hills in the community, Cliff and Sidekick. The first recorded shooting occurring in Cliffside Park was on November 3rd, 1875 when three men were shot at close range by William Browning while they were playing together on a hilltop near Cliffside Drive. Browning killed one man and wounding two others before being apprehended. One of the men who was shot, John Grooms, later became president of the Board of Elections for Camden Township and also served as mayor pro tempore for four years from 1886 to 1890. Noted shooter Earle Caldwell lived in Cliffside Park from 1915 until his death in 1922. Caldwell was known for his NRA marksmanship tournaments which took place every year at Monmouth National Bank Arena where he would shoot handguns with replica firearms. Many famous shooters have competed including Joe DeSalvo, Sam Giancana and Ted Nugent at Caldwell’s tournaments over the years including some that still take place today such as Chris Kyle’s “Hail Mary” competition which has been held annually at Midtowne Casino since 2007.

Cliffside Park is located in the Township of Warren, in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The population was 8,651 at the 2010 census. Cliffside Park is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Area. The township was formed from portions of Middlesex and Union Counties on December 14, 1814. It was named for a bluff near the center of town that overlooks the Hackensack River. In 1845, much of what now makes up Cliffside Park came under English control as part of the Treaty of Paris after World War II when New Jersey became an independent country. In 1921, a group of citizens led by Justice Samuel Menken developed a bill to annex lands within present-day Cliffside Park to make it into a public parkland that would be open to all residents regardless of social status or economic background. The ordinance creating Cliffside Park passed overwhelmingly with over 200 signatures from citizens living within its boundaries (though not all were residents since some had moved there after being annexed by other municipalities). In 1941, following World War II and during efforts to integrate European Americans into American society, authorities enacted regulations meant to discourage cross-border racial interaction among Jews and others deemed "undesirable" minorities. As a result, many Jews who had resided in and around Cliffside Park for years left their homes in search of new opportunities throughout America while also avoiding contact with local law enforcement officials investigating possible anti-Semitism; some did so voluntarily while others were incarcerated or deported as part of Operation Paperclip which brought over tens thousand Europeans to America during the war years. With no Jews remaining in town after hostilities ceased (and most people having returned home), land values skyrocketed around Bridgeport Avenue following its reclamation as part of postwar development plans for Newark and its environs – making Cliffside Park one of Newark’s priciest neighborhoods outside downtown areas where real estate prices have been stable or even increasing since then (the neighborhood has seen significant gentrification through recent decades due largely to increased commercial activity on Bridgeport Avenue). Today's Clifford Heights forms much smaller corner piece adjacent eastbound I-95 traffic circle Exit 202A off Interstate 95 southbound just past milepost 4 along I-95 near exit 10A known locally as "The Halt" because it once served as an emergency stoplight for travelers coming down I-95 southbound; this area used to be called "Walking Wall" because pedestrians would line up along both banks thereof waiting their turn at one time before crossingwalk opened) while still preserving much character & charm associated with early 20th century Clifftop community including residences streetscape width limit 2 stories deep typical 3 story brick buildings few if any wood frame structures extant save single family dwelling currently occupied by elderly couple w/ pet dog located inside historic wall built prior to 1915 cliff side park acquisition

Cliffside Park is one of the oldest towns in New Jersey. The site was chosen for its protrusion into the Delaware River, which formed the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The town's name comes from a bluff on the river that overlooks it. Cliffside Park first saw settlement in 1795 when a group of farmers set up camp on land they acquired from the state government. The town grew quickly, and by 1815 it had a population of around 300 people. It became an incorporated municipality in 1874, and by 1930 it had reached its current size of around 20,000 people. The town has experienced several periods of growth and decline over the years. In 1830, Cliffside Park was part of what was known as "the Western Reserve", which covered much of modern-day Philadelphia and Bucks County. This area was heavily agricultural, with many small businesses operating until the mid-19th century. However, industry began to grow in this region during the 1850s as migrants replaced rural residents in search for new opportunities in a rapidly expanding United States. By 1870, Cliffside Park had become one of Philadelphia's most important commercial areas; it remained so until after World War II when suburbanization beginning to take hold led to increased competition for jobs within city limits. During Prohibition (1921- 1933), Cliffside Park became one of the most notorious drinking spots in all of Pennsylvania because prohibitionists found it easy to find alcohol there without having to go far outside Philly or even into Bucks County proper – allowing them to traffic booze through every other county too! In fact, according to one estimate, more than 100 buses were used to transport liquor from Philly breweries directly into Cliffside Park each day! However, while Prohibition did boost business for local businesses (and made cliff side park a popular tourist destination), it also caused problems for locals who were not able to get their hands on liquor despite being close enoughfetched – leading some old timers to say that “CliffSide Park still smells like intoxicating liquors” today! In 1934 following Franklin D Roosevelt's inauguration as President OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (34TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA), Clifford Side Parks' economy took off due largely because FDR ordered his Emergency Order No 1115 which prohibited speakeasies throughout America effective 3/1/1935 . This order allowed citizens across America access Alcohol without going through localrestricted bars thereby providing employment opportunities for many individuals who were previously employed at speakeasy companies
