Cliffside Park, New Jersey is home to Cliffside Golf Course and several other golf courses. The course opened in 1892, and it has been open every year since then. The original owner of the course was Mr. John A. Gorman. In 1924, the course became a public school, and in 1954 it became part of the Township of Cliffside Park. In 1971, the Township merged with the borough of Paterson to form the City of Paterson. The City annexed the golf course into its boundaries in 1984. Today, Cliffside Park is a well-known tourist destination for golfers worldwide because of its excellent courses and scenic surroundings.

Cliffside Park is located in Bergen County, New Jersey and was founded in 1835. The town was named for Colonel John Cliffton of the 2nd Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers who fought in the Battle of Monmouth on July 4, 1814.
Cliffside Park is a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It was founded in 1824 and has been located on the border of Middlesex and Sussex Counties since then. The community had a population of 9,859 according to the 2010 census. Cliffside Park is home to the only synagogue in New Jersey and is also the site of several schools including Cliffside Elementary School, which serve students from pre-K through eighth grade; Westview Middle School; and South Side High School. The town's first post office opened in 1825. The name "Cliffside" comes from two prominent families who were instrumental in its early development: The Aspinwall family ( whose descendants still live there) donated land for a school district and built one of the first schools in town; while Isaac Aspinwall (the son of the donor) developed a grocery store that served as his own personal business until he sold it to his brother-in-law, Solomon Gruenwald, Jr., in 1925. Gruenwald became president and CEO of Macy’s Corporation before dying in 2004. In 1892, Clifford Avenue was named after Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt's son Commodore John Jacob Clifton Vanderbilt III (). In 1927, Clifford Avenue was renamed after General George Washington Irving due to complaints by some residents about possible confusion with nearby Long Branch Road (). Cliffside Park began as a small township on what is now known as east side Drive between Maple Lawn Boulevard and Northern Boulevard. On March 4, 1924 – three days following incorporation into Middlesex County – most of Cliffside Township merged into new borough form called Paramus Borough with all its citizens voting unanimously to join Paramus Township riding handily at 62% against 17% against Nonpartisan League candidate James Jaffe (whose father also ran for office). Upon merger into Paramus Township all but 2 out of 8 original homeowners within Cliffside Park voted against joining Paramus Borough because they felt their homes would not be well protected by either municipality should it dissolve/ merge again without them getting any say so – although this did not happen due to jurisdictional issues later arising between cliffSide Park residents & Paramus Borough residents). Cliff Side Park still retains ownership over many roads & land within its borders today: East side Drive remains cliffside park property while Maple Lawn Boulevard becomesParamus Boulevard

Cliffside Park is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the borough had a population of 18,906. The name originated from Cliff's side of the river and refers to an old sugar plantation that was located on Cliff's Heights. The first Europeans to visit what is now Clifford Park were Dutch colonists who named it "Willemstadt", meaning "the town at Willemstadt". In 1664, English colonists renamed the settlement after their lord, Lord Clifford of Stockport in England. At first, only men could own land in Clifford Park; however women began to purchase parcels of land starting around 1750. About 1800, there were about 60 families living in Clifford Park according to one census report. In 1834, two local boys – John Fenton and Andrew Hennepin – became America’s first recorded settlers when they landed on Governor Livingston’s beach at Cliffside Beach on Staten Island as part of an effort by American citizens to claim some new territory for the United States. Their landing actually took place at what is now North Beach because they were unable to find dry land inland enough for their boats to dock on Staten Island proper. The brothers founded what would become known as Fenton’s Landing on what is today Grand Street near Cliffside Boulevard in 1835-36 and soon commenced building a small hamlet called Ferry Landing which would later be renamed Cliffside Park after them both
Cliffside Park was once a small village in New Jersey. It is now a popular tourist spot and has many historical attractions, including the Cliffside Park Cemetery.
