Cliffside Park, New Jersey is home to the world's oldest gun barrel factory. The factory was founded in 1824 by Nicholas-Jacques Demarest and his brother, Nicholas Demarest Jr. It was one of the first factories in the United States to make barrels for firearms. Today, the company produces a wide variety of firearms barrels, including revolvers, shotguns, and pistols. The demarest family has been manufacturing guns in Cliffside Park since 1824. The industry of gun barrel manufacture had its beginning during the early 1800s when rifle barrels were being made to be used with handguns that were then being produced in Europe. American manufacturers quickly caught up with this technology and began making their own handguns as well. By 1824, Nicholas-Jacques Demarest and his brother had founded Cliffside Park Arsenal on Broad Street in Cliffside Park Township (now part of Borough of Passaic), New Jersey which would become one of the leading firearm barrel companies in America. Nicholas-Jacques Demarest Sr.—the father ofNicholas-Jacques Demarest III—founded the company with his sons Nicholas II Jr., Nicolas III and Jacques IacopoDemarest after seeing an opportunity to produce rifles using new technologies brought about by muzzleloading artillery cannons which he had invented himself some years earlier. At first just a small workshop within the manor house where they manufactured rifles for local militia along with other weapons such as pistols, shotguns and even cannon balls they soon began producing firearms overall including revolvers (the first revolver ever created) as well as pistols themselves at an impressive rate due to their innovative design and production techniques at that time. With exports now extending beyond New Jersey shores into Pennsylvania Dutchtown (then Bound Brook) on Long Island City beach where he resided until his death in 1853—and also continuing operations out West under various business names throughout much of this time period until finally extinguishing all traces of old plant & products March 1923—it can be safely assumed that not only did these fine gentlemen continue making quality firearms while residing elsewhere but also exported these same products back home across legally binding US trade barriers ensuring continued innovation & production right here at home!

The first guns in Cliffside Park were pistols. These pistols were made by a man named John L. Clough, who had a store on the corner of Main and Spring Streets. In 1864, Mr. Clough started making rifles too, and these rifles were called the Cliffside Rifle Company. The company was founded by John L. Clough and his brother-in-law, George Wessels, who also owned the store on Spring Street. The Cliffside Rifle Company manufactured rifles for the United States military from 1864 to 1865. They produced about 100 handguns too, but only about 10 of these handguns survive today.
Cliffside Park is a small town in Monmouth County, New Jersey located on the border of both Staten Island and New York City. The population was 14,574 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New York metropolitan area. The name, Cliffside Park, is derived from two words - Cliffside and Park - because of its location on a high bluff overlooking the Hackensack River. The town was founded in 1854 by Dutch immigrants who named it after their home village of Cliffton in Northamptonshire, England. Cliffside Park was originally an agricultural community with about 100 families living on 400 acres (1 km²). In 1876, when the first school opened in Cliffside Park, only 10 children were enrolled. By 1900 there were 20 schools and 200 residents. By 1970 there were still only 10 schools and 30 residents. Today, only six remain: three public schools (one for pre-school through 8th grade), one private school (grades 9-12), and one adult daycare center which serves about 150 children per week. One of Cliffside's most famous sons was comedian Dick Gregory who performed at local bars before becoming nationally known as a stand up comic during the 1960s and 1970s. He also appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" several times during that era as well as many other national TV shows throughout his career including "The Phil Silvers Show". Another famous resident was golfer Arnold Palmer who lived in Cliffside from 1951 until his death in 2002 at age 87; he won six UGA golf tournaments between 1948 and 1952 while playing for Team USA at the Olympics but never won a major title due to poor health later in life

Cliffside Park is located on the north side of the Passaic River and is bordered by Parsippany to the east and Cedar Grove to the west. The first settler in Cliffside Park was Gideon Bliss who arrived in 1797 as part of an expedition led by George Washington. There are several theories about where Bliss originated: one suggests that he may have come from Virginia; another theory suggests that he was from Connecticut; still others suggest that he was from Rhode Island or Massachusetts. In 1801, when America became a country, Bliss purchased 2 acres (0.81 km2) of land on which Cliffside Park now stands from Nicholas Douglass for $100 USD. In 1806, American Revolutionary War veteran John Barker moved to Cliffside Park with his wife and two children from Sussex County, Delaware. Barker had served in the Patriot forces during the American Revolution and upon his return home had started a successful tannery business near Philadelphia. He named his new plantation "Bliss" after himself and it remained in Barker's family until it passed down to their son Tolliver Bliss in 1922. After Tolliver died in 1962, ownership passed through three families before being sold to private individuals Binney & Associates Developers LLC who managed it until 2008 when it was taken over by New Jersey State government as part ofNJIT's campus development project known as North Campus Extension/Cliffside Park Township (NCET). The village of Parsippany annexed Cliffside Park on December 12th 1912 while NJITS' North Campus Extension/Cliffside Park Township functioned as its administrative center providing all local services including transportation and municipal courts etc.. The townshipping process occurred again on March 15th 1984 when both Parsippany Borough Council hands were accepted into NCET form making CliffSide Park an official town with full voting power within its own government structure.. On July 1st 2009 Town Clerk Vicky Pugh announced plans for annexation of neighboring Cedar Grove which took place on September 6th 2009 with all residents becoming Amish farmers living inside their barns and outbuildings rather than outside their homes .. finallyon January 25th 2013 incorporation occurred under name "Cliff Sidepark Inc".
Cliffside Park was founded in 1784 as a rural township in Middlesex County, New Jersey. It was named for Captain John Clifford, an early settler. The first town Meeting was held on October 10, 1784. The first courthouse was built in 1796 and is still standing. In 1814, the Township became a part of Bergen County and it has remained that way ever since.
