Carteret is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 6,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Union City, NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first ammunition store in Carteret opened in 1853. In 1892, Carteret's first municipally-owned school closed and was replaced by a private school operated by the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1898, a new armory was built in Carteret to serve as the town's primary weapon storage facility for its police and fire departments. As time passed and Carteret grew more populous, it began to require even more space for its munitions needs; however, the armory remained operational until it was decommissioned in 1966 due to budget shortfalls and lack of interest from local governments. carteret ammo stores map

The depot served as a storage and distribution center for munitions from the United States Military. Ammunition products include artillery rounds, machinegun rounds, mortar rounds, grenades and rockets.
Carteret is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,898 at the 2010 census. Carteret was formed on April 1, 1802 from portions of Camden Township. It is one of the five boroughs in Camden County and is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The township of Carteret was founded by George Washington on May 10, 1784 as West Carteret Township. On March 15, 1802, it became a borough after being set apart as part of thelarger municipality of Camden. The borough's name comes from Commodore John Carteret (1585-1658), an Englishman who served as captain general and governor of Rhode Island during the Dutch period and afterwards represented New York in the General Court under King George II until his death at sea off Sandy Hook on December 12, 1658. He bequeathed land to each inhabitant in his will which made Carteret one of America's earliest townships. In 1834, much needed storage facilities were built at Broad and Market Streets in what is now known as downtown Carteret due to rising freight costs caused by increased rail traffic along Route 22 between Philadelphia and New York City; this led to what has been called "the first commercial development within limits of Newark". In addition to this warehouse complex also stood what is now known as First Baptist Church with its bell tower still standing today; it was here that Reverend James Latham preached his famous sermon railing against religious intolerance during the height of American slavery

The first Bullets and Arrows game was played in 1814 by James Fenton between two teams of six players. The development of firearms made ammunition more important. As guns became more powerful and accurate, it became necessary for shooters to find new types of ammunition that would help them hit their targets accurately. Ammunition manufacturers began finding ways to use different materials in order to create a better bullet for each gun type and firearm make-up. This led to the development of today’s ammo products including lead shot, silver bullets, caseless rounds, explosive rounds, rifle bullets (known today as hunting rounds), shotgun shells (known today as buckshot), airsoft pellets (made from plastic explosives), etc.

Carteret, New Jersey is a small town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Trenton metropolitan area. The first European to set foot on the Carteret Peninsula was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524 when he explored and charted what would become New Netherland. He named it Nieuw Amsterdam after his new home city of Amsterdam in Holland. In 1614, English colonists founded Perth Amboy as a proprietary settlement on Staten Island opposite Manhattan and called it Carteret because they had sighted an island off the coast of Staten Island that bore this name before landing there. The Dutch renamed it Nieuw Utrecht in 1636 after their new home city of Utrecht in southern Netherlands; however, no one ever thought to rename another place after either their old home country or their new community here! In 1837, John Stevens became Attorney General for New York and decided to move his family from Albany, New York (the state's capital) to Trenton because he believed that Trenton would soon become the national capital due to its location near Princeton University and its easy access by railroads. He also saw potential for development here as an agricultural center given its fertile land and ample water supplies. Stevens persuaded Congress to pass legislation creating Trenton Township on December 3, 1837 with a population of 581 residents; only four years later (January 3, 1840), Congress passed a resolution designating all of Mercer County as part ofNew Jersey so that all future township boundaries could be based on county lines rather than personal borders which were then determined by congressional districts). The first post office located at Carteret was established on July 12, 1840; however there were no residents living here until January 3rd 1830 when David Harnett opened his store at 264 Main Street beside present day Union Bank building which still stands today
