The Bound Brook Police Department began using firearms in the early 1800s. At that time, handguns were not common and most law enforcement officials used spears or swords to deal with criminals. In 1892, the Bound Brook Township Council ordered the purchase of a handguns for use by township officers. The department purchased three pistols from John Brown & Co., a gunsmith in Philadelphia. The first handgun was used by Constable Charles Haines on October 5th, 1892. From then on, the department began to use handguns for all law enforcement purposes. In 1914, an Italian immigrant named Luigi Gagliardi opened a gun store in Bound Brook. Gagliardi became interested in American arms and started making guns for Americans. After World War I ended, Gagliardi developed a new type of pistol that allowed users to fire multiple rounds at once without reloading. This weapon is often referred to as the “Colt 1911” because it was manufactured by Colt Firearms Corporation. Glock rifles were also beginning to be used by law enforcement in the 1920s and 1930s. The first Glock rifle was acquired by the Bound Brook Police Department in 1933 and was known as the “Bolt Action Rifle” because it could be fired single shots or bursts up to ten rounds per minute with no reloading required. By 1940, Glock had become America’s favorite firearm due to its reliability and ease of operation. Today, Glock pistols are still being used by police departments throughout America due their popularity and durability. Additionally, Glock has released several different versions of pistols which include assault rifles which can shoot multiple rounds per minute with no reloading necessary; these weapons are called “Glock Lower Handgun Models” (GLM).

Bound Brook is a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,362 at the 2010 census. Bound Brook is located within the New Brunswick Township core. Bound Brook is one of two towns in Middlesex County and one of four towns in New Jersey that are considered part of the Monmouth Park Regional Planning Area. Bound Brook was incorporated as a town on October 17, 1845, from portions of Upper Freehold Township and East Brunswick Township. On May 16, 1951, it became an incorporated borough based on its population increase over the next five years. On December 3rd of that year it merged with neighboring Elizabethtown to form what would become Bound Brook Borough. The first settler in what would become Bound Brook was George Haines who came to this area from Sussex County in 1814. He built a house on what is now Moore Avenue near present-day Allendale Road because he could not find any land for sale in his new township about west of where he lived at the time. In 1827, when Bound Brook formed from parts of Upper Freehold Township and East Brunswick Township, it had a population of only 25 people and consisted entirely of farmers’ homes and farmlands along the Delaware River which lay between Haines’s home east of present-day Moore Avenue and Elizabethtown to the west (then known as West Side). By 1830 there were 125 residents living inBoundbrook; by 1840 there were 240 residents; by 1850 there were 300 residents; by 1860 there were 320 residents; by 1870 there were 350 residents; by 1880 there were 400 residents; by 1890 there were 500 residents In 1845 John Sutherfield bought 15 acres (6 hectares) along present-day Moore Avenue from William Kemble for £100 ($160). Settlers started building here around this time including Peter Kiefer who arrived around 1830 In 1850 John Sutherfield erected a two story stone structure on what is now Sanders Boulevard near frontage road for use as his library which he called "The School House". It served as both his office for government business as well as his residences until 1863 when he moved into a more permanent brick building which still stands today on College Ave., just north of modern day Sanders Boulevard The schoolhouse burned down during riots which occurred in 1861 but their damage was so extensive that no claim was ever made against him For many years after that fire no one knew who owned or repaired/maintained this beautiful old schoolhouse Which housed our first Congregational Church! Bound Brook is a town in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,362 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest municipality in Somerset County and one of its five townships. Bound Brook is bordered by Paterson to the south, Middletown Township to the west, Newton Township to the north, and Rahway Township to the east. The first Europeans to visit Bound Brook were Giovanni da Verrazzano and his crew on November 15, 1493. They were looking for a passage through what is now Burlington County so they could explore North America. In 1664–65 Robert Morris explored this area and named it after himself as part of his survey of New Jersey which he was conducting for English East India Company leaders John Hawkins and Admiral Sir Francis Drake. On February 12, 1713 James Kappey sold 1/2 mile (1 kilometer) of land along what is now Route 9 from what is now Bound Brook Creek eastward to Paterson for $200. He also sold 500 acres (200 hectares) further east on what became known as Kappey’s Swamp for $100 each in 1714. The tract that would later become Bound Brook was purchased from Kappey by Elias Howe in 1727 for £50 per acre (€10 per hectare). Howe renamed it Monmouthshire after Monmouthshire in England where he had been born in c1702. In 1806 Bound Brook became part of Bergen County when Mercer County was divided into two parts based on population lines drawn during Reconstruction following the American Civil War. At that time there were 11 townships in Bergen County with 2 million residents while onlyBound Brook had 7 thousand residents! The first post office opened in 1824 at Pembertonville; it moved toboundbrookville on December 5th of that year under auspices of Postmaster General Nicholas Biddle who issued a proclamation announcing that “the place situated between Rahway and Princeton Streets should be called” BoundBrook because “this route has been most often used by travelers bound thither from different parts of this county” In 1830, BoundBrook township formed from portions of Middlesex Township and Union Borough; these Towns merged on January 1st 1831 into newtownship form with boundary changes made retroactive thereto including consolidation with Rahway Township which took effect February 13th 1830 . On October 26th 1860 all municipalities within township form were consolidated into newboundbrookvillage government effective November 30th 1860 pursuant order of President Andrew Johnson rescinded due to lack OFICIAL organization within village resulting from consolidations preceding date
