Gun lights were first introduced into the Bound Brook, New Jersey area in the early 1800s. At that time, Bound Brook was a small town located on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. As gun lighting became more popular, different businesses began to offer their customers this service. The Bound Brook community had a total of nine gun lights at various points in its history. In 1903, the first light was erected on the corner of Sunrise and Maple Streets. It was a small, single-watt light that served as a warning to other residents when someone was hunting in the area. In 1916, the first gun light system was installed in the townspeople’s Association building on Park Avenue. The system consisted of three large “W” lights and four smaller “N” lights. Each light could be used to indicate one particular type of firearm: revolvers, shotguns, or rifles. In 1922, an additional gunlight system was added to the townspeople’s Association building on Park Avenue. This new system consisted of six large “V” lights and twelve smaller “U” lights. These lights could be used to indicate either handguns or shotguns (or any other type of firearm) for use by law enforcement officers during searches or investigations. In 1932, an additional gunlight system was installed in the townspeople’s Association building on Summit Street. This new system consisted of eight large “D” stars and twenty small “G” stars. These stars could be used to indicate either handguns or shotguns (or any other type of firearms) for use by police officers during searches or investigations.
Bound Brook, New Jersey is a small town located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The population was 20,890 as of the 2010 census. Bound Brook is an agricultural town and contains a number of farms and plantations that produce crops such as tobacco, soybeans, cotton, and sugar beets. The area around Bound Brook has been inhabited by the Lenape people for many centuries and today most of the remaining Lenape live in Delaware. Bound Brook began as a series of small settlements along the east bank of the Schuylkill River. On July 1, 1777, it became part of Philadelphia through an act entitled "An Act to establish this Province." The name "bound brook" comes from the fact that until early in its history much of what is now Bound Brook was within limits chartered by William Penn from trading posts on the Susquehanna River. In 1802 boundary changes made it part of Princeton Township but with no change in its character or residents. The first store in Bound Brook opened at 101 Main Street on October 15th 1824 by Elias Howe and his brother-in-law Samuel Browning who had come overland from Pennsylvania to purchase land for their enterprise. Howe operated his store until he died in 1851 and his wife continued running it until her death in 1865; during her time she also served as trustee for Princeton Township (1849-1865). Browning's son Isaac built another store on High Street between Market Place and Clinton Avenue (now Spring Garden Road) about 1835-36 which lasted into the 19th century; it was replaced by a frame structure that still stands today. Another early store was built at 4 Sanger Street (later renamed Spring Garden Road) about 1830 by Johnathon Livingston; this building still stands today and functions as a social hallToday's oldest business building inboundBrook is First Presbyterian Church on Main Street which was built circa 1860s when Reverend John Gadsden became pastor after serving two terms as Superintendent of Schools for Middlesex County In June 1840 Elijah Howe married Jane Chambers who resided at 8 Amherst Court near present day Race Course Drive/Highway 79W . Bound Brook is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,571 at the 2010 census. Bound Brook is considered part of the Newark-Jersey City metropolitan area. It is bordered by Union Township to the northwest, Paterson to the northeast, and Elizabethtown to the east and west. Bound Brook was originally named Middletown Township in 1795 by Colonel John Middletown after his home near Bound Brook Falls in Bucks County. In 1812, it became part of Middlesex County under the terms of the Act of Union which merged all New Jersey counties into one state. The name was changed to Bound Brook in 1824 when it included what are nowElizabethtown and Paterson townships as well as parts of union township. The first industries were agriculture and trade until World War II when industry shifted towards defense production due to strategic location within New Jersey on both sides of the Delaware River between Philadelphia and points north. After World War II ended, local businesses struggled with increased competition from larger manufacturers outside of New Jersey while continuing to experience strong economic growth over subsequent decades until they began struggling again during the Great Recession in 2007-2009. However, recent improvements have seen renewed business development including several high technology companies who relocated from elsewhere in North America or opened new plants there following technological advances such as 3D printing and virtual reality software development; this has led to some hope for a rebound inbound economic growth going forward as these companies may create jobs that cannot be found locally or even nearby given current job market conditions In addition, Bound Brook has long been an important center for religious services with many churches dating back to colonial times and continuing today withover 5K members served including 4 synagogues along with numerous Roman Catholic churches and mosques Today's economy benefits from its location on Route 9 (the " boundBrook Expressway"), access to transportation systems such as PATH trains into Newark Liberty International Airport and Rutgers University's Piscataway campus located just south of town limits; furthermore, many small businesses dotting Main Street provide essential functions such as flower delivery or home health care service rendering it an attractive destination for pedestrians rather than a drive-through shopping mall
Bound Brook, New Jersey is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 27,853 at the 2010 census. Bound Brook is part of the Newark–Jersey City metropolitan area. Bound Brook was first settled in 1795 by Dutch immigrants who named it "Breda". In 1814, Bound Brook became part of Middlesex County and was incorporated as a town on February 14, 1825. On May 8, 1850, Bound Brook became an independent municipality when all of Middlesex County were merged into New Jersey. In 1865, Bound Brook's two streets were widened to four lanes for transportation purposes; this increase increased the number of residents and made the town more vibrant. The first electric streetlights were lit in 1870. In 1886-87boundBrook installed its first steam locomotive; this locomotive helped to stimulate economic development and make Bound Brook an important center for rail transport operations in the region. In 1912-13boundBrook's only paper mill closed down due to financial difficulties but new mills began up soon afterwards On July 1st 2006 boundbrook opened it's newest shopping mall which is called "The Mall"
