In the early days of Augusto Pinochet's military dictatorship, a variety of expandable mount systems were developed to attach rifles and other equipment to helicopters. One such system was the "Punta Cana" system, which was developed by the Chilean arms manufacturer Fiscalista. The original "Punta Cana" system was used by Chilenian Air Force pilots during Operation Condor (1946-1949), when they were tasked with hunting down Nazi collaborators in South America. In 1949, Fiscalista restored the mount to service as part of their new line of military helicopters called "Canaria". It continued to serve in this role until 1959, when it was replaced by another mounted rifle system called the "Chilean Helicopter Gun System", or CHGS.
Atlantic City, NJ is a city in New Jersey and the county seat of Monmouth County. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 805,715. The area now comprising Atlantic City was first populated by Native Americans and Europeans in what is now Monmouth County. The town of Camden became a port on the southern coast of Long Island Sound during the early 18th century and became an important center for slave trade. The town's geographic location near the mouth of Hackensack River made it vulnerable to attack by pirates and other robbers during this time period. The first European settler in what is now Atlantic City was Nicholas-Jacques Conte, who arrived there in 1664 as part of a group led by Christopher Newport. By 1711, most of present-day Monmouth County had been annexed by New Jersey from Pennsylvania. In 1738, Jameson brothers purchased land at Point Pleasant Beach from SirRichard Stockton for $5 per acre (1/4 mile). They named their new township "Atlantic" after Prince George's County in Maryland where they lived until their death in 1775. In 1814, Governor John Stevens issued a proclamation designating Atlantic as the capital of New Jersey due to its strategic location on both sides of Long Island Sound and its role as an important commercial center during this time period. In 1847, Congress passed legislation authorizing construction of the first railroads through New Jersey; these were known as THE NEW JERSEY RUSSELLS RAILROAD (later PATHWAY INC.) and were built between Trenton and Camden along what are now Broad Street and Cooper Street within present-day Atlantic City limits. This opened up many new opportunities for business people and accelerated development around here which continues to this day with numerous high-rise buildings including Trump Tower (#1 on Forbes List), Fort Lee Armory #2 on Market Street SE (now home to Middlesex County Free Library), Convention Hall (now home to Sands Casino Hotel) & GWB Pharmacy #3 on Boardwalk Avenue NE (now home to Revel casino). Although originally conceived as purely economic development tools, these networks have helped create today’s vibrant downtown areas with large anchor stores including Macy’s Department Store (#2 on Forbes list), Neiman Marcus #4 across Broad Street from Trump Tower (& another anchor store opening soon!), Cohen’s Jewelers (#5), Saks Fifth Avenue (& several other anchors) & H&M Supercenter (#6) amongst others - all within walking distance or just minutes away from one another! Today's economy is based largely upon gambling which has long been an integral part thereof; however related revenues continue to grow faster than local employment numbers throughout much of Northeast Corridor major metropolitan area - making Atlantic City one that truly remains “the Entertainment Capital Of The World!”
