Beresford Firearms Manufacturing Company remained active until 1983 when it merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester Incorporated. At that time, Asbury Park became one of two sites where Winchester’s shotgun manufacturing operations were located (the other being Wilmington Delaware). Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded in 1892 by John Moses Browning within the walls of Beresford Firearms Manufacturing Company. At that time, Winchester Repeating Arms Company became one of America’s leading firearm manufacturers with production facilities throughout North America. During World War II, Winchester Repeating Arms Company produced arms for both Europe and Japan based on their expertise in barrel production techniques developed at their Wilmington Delaware facility. After World War II ended, Winchester Repeating ArmsCompany continued to produce firearms until 1977 when it merged with Remington Rand Corporation to become Remington Rand & Co., Incorporated

The Asbury Park Pistol Club, Inc. was founded on February 14, 1916 by P.G. Waring and Harvey Weisbrod as the Asbury Park Rifle and Pistol Club. The club became the Asbury Park Pistol & Shotgun Club in 1927, then the Asbury Park Rifle and Pistol Association in 1933. On October 1, 1934, the New Jersey Legislature passed a bill authorizing concealed carry of pistols and shotguns in public areas with a permit from the police department or other authority having jurisdiction over that area. The first permit was issued to Harry Lauder on November 3, 1934.

Asbury Park is known for its rich history and culture as well as its many amusement parks and casinos. It is also home to the world's second largest sandpit and the largest concentration of seashells in the world.
Asbury Park is a city in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. Asbury Park was incorporated as a town on March 15, 1869, from portions of Hackensack and Midland Township. Asbury Park's name derives from the Indian word "asarawa" meaning "a place where one can play." The first settler in Asbury Park was Nicholas Woodruff who arrived in 1795. In 1844, John Pemberton became the first white person to set foot in what is now Asbury Park when he led an expedition overland from Perth Amboy to claim land along the Hackensack River. By 1860, there were 446 residents living in Asbury Park. On July 8, 1861, President Abraham Lincoln issued an Executive Order establishing Mount Pleasant Cemetery in honor of General George Armstrong Custer and his cavalry unit which had died during Battle of Gettysburg two days earlier. In 1865–1867 Union troops under General Winfield S. Hancock burned down many businesses and homes around Asbury Park while marching through the town on their way to battle at Gettysburg; as a result, Asbury park's economy suffered for some time afterwards. A new courthouse and jail were built near Center Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard between 1868-1870 by local contractor Alexander Hahn after plans submitted to the state legislature by Mayor Noah Webster failed to pass due to lack of funds. The planned courthouse would have been styled like a Gothic Revival structure with gables atop richly carved stone walls; however, construction never proceeded beyond sketches because of budgetary constraints within the government during that period. During World War II (1939-1945), as Newark began its preparations for war against Japan following Pearl Harbor, much development took place within Asbury Park including construction of military barracks (later converted into housing) on Centre Avenue north of Atlantic Boulevard which served as headquarters for Unit 731 (*See also: antisemitism in post-war America). After the war ended (1945), most redevelopment stalled because no new contracts were available for infrastructure projects due to decreased demand nationally following World War II Veterans' Administration decisions not to renew numerous wartime contracts previously awarded to local companies who had contributed greatly towards war production - including those working on Fort Lee Army Ammunition Plant(*See also: postwar American Jews). However*, some small businesses did continue operations until they closed or went out of business after years of being unregulated due to low regulation* See also: anti-Semitism *See also: Newark’s history
