This year's Manchester Gun Show was a record-breaking event with more than 350 exhibitors and buyers from all over the United States and around the world. The first gun show in Manchester was held in 1851. It wasn't until 1907 that the city hosted its own annual firearms fair which became known as "The Manchester Fair". In 1916, The Manchester Armory opened its doors for business and quickly became one of America's leading firearm dealers. In 1984, The Manchester Armory moved to its current location on State Street and continues to serve as America's most comprehensive firearms show floor. Today, The Manchester Gun Show is a major source of American history, tradition, and culture. It provides an opportunity for people of all ages to experience firsthand how firearms have shaped our country and community. In addition to exhibiting his latest weaponry, each exhibitor at this year's event offered a unique insight into their industry or trade. This included demonstrations of traditional muzzleloader techniques as well as high-powered rifles and shotguns rarely seen at other events. It was difficult not to be attracted by the excitement engulfing the city during this years' edition of The Manchester Gun Show! Photos taken throughout the day offer an incredible snapshot of everything that went on: security checkpoints manned by police; hordes of spectators lining up outside stalls; vendors setting up their display cases; participants loading weapons into cars; men carrying torches through downtown streets...the list goes on and on!

The Manchester-Wadesboro Bridge crossing the Merrimack River connects Manchester with Wadesboro, North Carolina. Manchester is also the site of New Hampshire's first state Capitol and the original courthouse for both Middlesex County and Hampshire County. It has been reported that General George Washington spent his final days in Manchester before he died in 1799 at Mount Vernon onancock Island. The Town of Manchester was chartered on February 24, 1692 by Increase Mather and others from Ipswich Township east of Portsmouth and northwest of Salem (now part of Everett). The original land grant included much of what now constitutes Manchester Township including present-day Broadway Street south to its junction with Indian Path (present day US 20), West Park Avenue (present day State Routes 10 and 11), South Park Road, Easton Pond Pond, as well as alluvial deposits along the river valley interior between Westminster Abbey to the north and Deep Creek to the south. For most of its history until 1837 there were three townships: Addison, Arlington Heights and Bolton. On July 15th, 1837 they were merged into one township namedManchester which contained all but 7 acres of Addison Township still unincorporated today. In 1908Manchester incorporated as a city under an act passed by the New Hampshire House of Representatives In 1916 it became a state capital when NH became a state following ratification by both houses of Congress On April 12th 1978 NH proclaimed Manchester a "City" status full time while designation only applied during certain events such as mayoral elections or city council meetings On November 3rd 1984 Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced plans to change how City Hall functions effective January 1st 1985 making it more like a typical municipality where decisions about zoning are made through hearings rather than consensus after input from all members
