Ar15 upper receivers were designed in the early 1990s as a replacement for the AR-15 platform. The original design was based on the Winchester Model 70 rifle and used an A1 forged barrel, low-Profile gas block, and 509 bolt carrier group. These rifles were popular among law enforcement and military units because of their high accuracy and durability. In 1998, Colt introduced the M4 platform which replaced the AR-15 as the standard infantry rifle in many armies around the world. With this new platform, Ar15 decided to reduce weight by removing some features from their prior designs, such as a forged barrel and low-Profile gas block. In 2004, Colt introduced a new lower receiver that utilized an aluminum forging for increased strength and durability. This Lower Receiver was then further improved in 2009 when they released the Colt Combat Service Rifle (CSR) which is made specifically for use with Ar 15 Upper Receivers. The CSR uses both a 5” milspec barrel with 1:8 Twist rate and full metal jacketed ammunition feeding device that provides superior performance over any other lower receiver on the market today. In 2013, Colt introduced another new lower receiver called “The Lineage” which utilizes CNC machined billet aluminum rails for added strength and durability while still providing compatibility with most aftermarket parts. Laconia is one of the few communities in New Hampshire that still retains its Revolutionary War history. The town was founded by Loyalists who fled to Vermont during the American Revolution. On July 17, 1775, a group of men from Laconia formed the Continental Army and fought on Long Island as part of George Washington's army. The town namesake may be derived from this time period as well - Lansingburgh (now Albany) NY had been captured by British forces and renamed Laconia after General John Forbes's forces burned it to the ground. Laconia was originally part of Granite township until 1802 when it became a separate entity due to its proximity to Boston. In 1872, it was annexed by Nashua and became known as Nashua-Laconia borough. As with many towns in Franklin County during this time period, much effort went into developing mills which supported the local economy; these days only a few remaining buildings remain from those early days including Main Street's First National Bank building which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984. During World War II Laconia served as an important airfield for fighter pilots flying missions over North America and Europe. Many bombers were based here including Air Force One which takeoff from runway 5 at NASDAQ airport near Manchester NH on December 16th 1946 while also conducting Operation Crossroads - testing new methods for bombing strategic targets within Germany using Boeing B-29s flown out of RAF Mildenhall England). In recent years Laconia has experienced growth in gentrification with development taking place along Route 2A between Main Street and Ridge Road (formerly called High School Avenue).
