Many businesses closed during war years due to lack of customers but have since reopened thanks to wartime marketing techniques learned from air cargo transportation companies such as Am business aviation Incorporated which had been founded by two missionaries working with TC C . After the war ended many people returned home but some stayed behind with their families living off farmsteads until about 1970 when there was significant real estate development throughout downtown which has resulted in increased population density making it difficult if not impossible for pedestrians or cyclists to get around without getting lost or going out of bounds
