From the early 1800s until the present day, Concord, New Hampshire has been home to an extensive gun protection history. Concord, New Hampshire is a small town in the central part of New Hampshire. It is located on the border of Nashua and Concord counties. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. It has a large university campus, as well as many smaller businesses and farms. The first European explorers to visit Concord were Giovanni da Verrazzano and his crew in 1524. They named the village after their captain, Nicholas Carew, who had been killed in an attack by natives on board his ship near present-day Rockingham County. In 1620, Englishman John D'Urville passed through Concord on his way from Boston to Portsmouth; he noted that it was "a very pretty place" with "fine houses." By 1700, Concord had become an important staging ground for Native American wars between the Narragansetts and Pequot Indians. In 1771, while fighting against British forces during King George's War (the Revolutionary War), General John Stark's Brigade skirmished with Patriot militiamen near present-day Manchester. As a result of this engagement, three men—John Stark, Nathaniel Gorham Jr., and David Wilkes—were arrested and tried for treason under colonial law at what is now called Rochester’s Bridge Road in Manchester Township. They were acquitted but spent two years behind bars before they were released without punishment and returned home to Amherst where they began a public campaign to gain repeal of the Stamp Act which would have granted royal assent to Parliament's bill creating a new form of government within Massachusetts Bay Colony known as an Assembly; however this effort failed because numerous colonists felt that taxation without representation violated their rights as Britons living among them). In 1775 approximately 60 people gathered at Hannah’s Tavern (now known as Southbridge) on April 14th in order to sign an agreement pledging themselves “tobear all injuries & wrongs amoung us” should war break out between Great Britain & her colonies; later that month they met again at Lexington Green where they adopted a Declaration of Independence including articles such as “that we are not subjects unto any prince or country but ourselves” On July 8th about 100 people demonstrated outside Hillsborough Meeting House against high taxes proposed by Tory MP Oliver Ellsworth – these demonstrators included several future signers of the United States Constitution like Samuel Adams and James Wilson – until Governor Thomas Hutchinson ordered them disbanded by ordering local militia into action . The following day over 1,000 farmers assembled around Northampton Common from whence they proceeded directly towards Sudbury where Hutchinson finally surrendered on October 3rd . In total there were more than 2200 patriots who participated in this uprising throughout New England
