Concord, N.H., is a town in Hampshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 11,868 at the 2010 census. Concord is home to the prestigious Emerson College and Amherst College. It is also the site of two annual events: the New England Aquarium's "Festival of Science" and the NH State Fair. The first European settlers in what is now Concord reached what would become present-day Concord by way of Portsmouth in 1609 on their way from Boston to Haverhill. By 1775, over 200 Congregational churches had been founded in New Hampshire, making it one of America's most religiously diverse states. In 1837, when America gain its independence from Great Britain, Concord became part of the new country as part of the Granite State along with other northern towns such as Manchester and Lebanon. In 1854, when Concord was designated as a city by an act of Congress under then-Governor Amos Kendall (the only American city to be so designated), its growth continued unabated and soon after it had outgrown its original downtown boundaries which included parts of modern day Durham and Nashua Streets southward to High Street northward all the way to Interstate highways I-93 and I-495 within walking distance for nearly all residents while still maintaining much character unique to that community including its own independent fire department staffed by professional firefighters who responded both inside and outside property owner’s homes; ice cream parlors were not unusual locations served by this department during these years In 1886 when a new courthouse was built on Mill Plain Road across from today’s Emerson College; this building was dedicated by Mayor George Bird Griggs who said “This City will never be surpassed as an example for other cities or Towns within our borders . . . we aim at being like Athens or Philadelphia where great bodies Of men have done good work without any public subsidy” With increasing economic development along Interstate highways 95/I-93/I-495 some local businesses came into being which include numerous small cafes serving traditionalNH food items like pie etc.; additional large business developments began around 1990s with many smaller shops opening up near mile marker 97 on I-495 called "The Crossing" developed by local developer Donny Deutschbach who later invested $5 million into developing it into one enclosed mall with restaurants & services including a movie theater & 4 tennis courts

Concord, New Hampshire is a town in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,073 at the 2010 census. Concord was founded in 1792 and named for the city of Concord in Massachusetts. The initial development of Concord took place on the east bank of the Merrimack River. In 1814, when Lawrence had purchased much of what is now Sullivan County from Native Americans, he built a jail and jailer's office there to serve as a deterrent to lawlessness and crime. It is said that for many years it was one of only two jails in New England. In 1875, the Town Meeting passed an ordinance providing for public education within the town limits. This led to the establishment of a school district which continues to operate today under various names including Plymouth-Concord Schools District No 2 (PCSD-2), Union Valley School District No 2 (UVSD-2), and Southwick School District No 3 (SWSD-3). In 1912, John Fenton donated land along the Merrimack River opposite where present day Easton Boulevard intersects with Route 9 outside of Concord to become what is now known as Fenton Park after his nephew John Fenton Jr., who had also donated land near Boston Common. The first post office opened in Concord on July 6, 1812; it remained open until December 12th 1870 due to American Revolutionary War tensions having increased between Great Britain and its colonies. During this time British troops were stationed at Fort George on nearby Arlington Hill across from modern day downtown Concord; mail stopped being delivered into town because it would have been intercepted by British troops stationed at Fort George rather than being delivered through normal channels like those used by local residents. Accordingly, all direct mail operations within Concord ceased effective January 15th 1830 effective as well as any othertownsend business except postage stamps which continued deliveries into town until February 14th 1830 due to postal regulations then being changed without prior notice via Royal Proclamation no later than April 10th 1830 effective retroactively affecting all previous stationary mail shipments destined for or destined for Lexington MA Via Bristol NH however not affectedvernight packages or any other type or manner package delivery services currently operating within our borders today
